Metalgirl: “You know Erras, you could at least pretend to find some optimism in this situation.”

She said getting tense from all this cynicism.

Metalman: “Ah don’t mind her Erras. But seriously left to me, I would care what these human haters throw at me. I’d hit them right back with it.”

Shaddiek: “tumbleyorf.”

“She’s right Erras, you’re always so gloomy and overstrung.” Gemma agreed with Metalgirl.

Erras didn’t respond because what Metalman just said made him worry even more.

“Why don’t you get some sleep.” Gemma suggested. “Looks like Makna’s on guard duty tonight.” She smiled at the dragon who was sat by the cave entrance.

Erras had a quick glance over at Makna before he got up to go and find somewhere comfortable (unlikely) to sleep.

“As I used to say to Gen - you ignore the bullies.” Gemma said to the Metals. “Some people are born with feathers for brains.”

“I’m excited about seeing the city... and the palace... and the sea.” Gemma sat down and removed her cape to use as a blanket. “Ooh, and maybe going shopping.”

Erras might have groaned hearing that. He sat down and leaned against the side of the cave, his head resting on top of a basalt stump.

Cate takes off her newly bought hat. Andrew had fallen asleep leaning on the basalt, and Cate decides to lean against him to fall asleep. Danivere was starting to feel drowsy as well.

Aster settles down for the night as well confident in Makna's guarding

Bellah was finding the axe sharpening quite annoying, but it wasn't as irritating as Erras' snoring, she tugged her hood over her ears and curled up to go to sleep.

"Aren't you tired, Honey?" Gemma waved to get Danivere's attention. She didn't want to come across as bossy, but they did have a big walk/climb tomorrow. "You should get to sleep too." Gemma smiled.

Daemon notices multiple people (Genii, Bellah) are irritated by his axe sharpening, so he puts it away and decided to go to sleep.

"You are right, I'm gonna hit the hay." Danivere smiles to Gemma before slowly dozing off.

As the group rest (or try to) for the night nothing sinister approaches them from the cave entrance... however, the same couldn’t be said for the pool of water at the back of the cavern.

Silently the circular pool begins to ripple and bubble, and from out of it raises a long muscular clawed arm. It clings to the surrounding basalt columns, followed by a second arm and then a head and shoulders - as whatever was emerging from the water pulled itself out.

It was quite gangly, humpbacked and short with hairy grey skin, yellow eyes, knotty black hair and a long jutting jaw with rows of spiky teeth... a goblin.

As it finished crawling out from the pool it was quickly joined by a few friends, all slick with water and grinning at one another menacingly.

With a nod and a few hand gestures they quietly crept toward the sleeping travellers, their dirty loin cloths trailing behind them. They’d clearly done this before.

One drooling goblin leaned over Serenity pointing at her and licking it’s lips hungrily - he’d picked a nice big juicy one.

A couple reached their long black claws towards Cate and Andrew intending to stab them while they slept.

Another opened its hideous mouth and stooped (intending) to bite Daemon’s neck.

A brave goblin used one long finger to lift Bellah’s hood (to have a peek at its prey), whilst it’s lanky friend sniffed Aster’s head. Another was carefully stretching out one of Gemma’s (yummy) wings.

The Metals were surrounded too, as a few creeping goblins moved in to (attempt to) eat them.

One goblin was looking inside Erras mouth as he slept/snored with his head back. Maybe it would eat his tongue first.

Another goblin loomed over Danivere. It’s long taloned hands making their way to wrap around her throat.

Genii was wrapped up like a burrito, so a goblin grabbed him by a boot and got ready to bite off a leg.

The creatures smirked at one another, then got ready to slash, chomp, strangle (or bite something off) in one unified attack - in five, four, three, two....

((Sorry if I’ve missed anyone. They haven’t seen Makna yet. I don’t know where Jet, Hanako etc. would be, but they look tasty so I’m sure the goblins will find them.))

Andrew's nose was tickled by the foul scent of the goblins coming inside the cave. As he is still asleep, his nose scrunched up before he sneezes. A volley of flames erupt from Andrew sneezing.
"Achooooo!"

Makna glanced round at the "explosive" sneeze, blinking as the goblins were illuminated in the cave. She stood up.

Shaddiek, Xola, and Pholaron sense danger and their antennas collect static:

The Metals wake up groggily to see the creatures and prepare for battle.

The two goblins intending to skewer Andrew and Cate hold up their clawed hairy arms to shield themselves from the flames. They are soaked from the pool so are singed and shocked, but otherwise able to jump out of harms way.

The other Goblins paused their attacks to look at the fire-breather.

“... s***! What was that?” Genii stirred hearing the sneeze.

“Language...” Erras grunted, adjusting his sleeping position. With his eyes closed, he just assumed somebody sneezed.

Gemma gave a loud terrified shriek and flapped her wing to get free of the goblin. Backing away on the floor until she bumped into a basalt stump.

The other goblins decide to go through with their various attacks, three of which pounce at (the now awake) Metalman, Metalgirl and Copper. Slashing, drooling and laughing as they go.

“OW!” Genii shouted as he got bit in the leg by something.

Erras didn’t loose his tongue, but something scraped it’s claws against his back. “Argh!”

Bellah grabbed the slimy hand that had found its way to her hood. She dug her nails into the goblin’s skin.

The goblin above Aster grabbed him by the hair and tried to lift him up.

Danivere’s attacker went to grab her by the throat.

Daemon’s attacker tried to go through with a bite to his neck (like a vampire).

Cate and Andrew’s goblins grabbed the couple by their ankles, intending to drag them apart.

Serenity’s goblin swiped its claws - aiming for her stomach.

One goblin stared up at Makna, with a big toothy grin, before leaping up towards her snout.

((Sorry if I’m slow. Currently cooking and there lots of characters. Tag me if I miss any of them.))

Danivere is shook awake by the throat grab and gasps for air. Because she is sitting on the ground, she can't use her legs to fend off the goblin. Right now the first thing she tries to do is pulling away the goblin's claws with both her hands.

Cate and Andrew both aim spells at the goblins hoping to ditch them and get up, but aiming is hard when you get dragged.

Daemon barely managed to stop the goblin from biting his neck, he is currently trying to keep it away from his head by pushing it away.

Serenity was shook awake by Andrew's sneeze beforehand however, and thus was able to anticipate the attack because she saw her goblin approach. She had grabbed a chunk of basalt to block the swipe with.

Makna scooted back before bareing her fangs to atempt to bite it in return.

With the startling tug on his hair Aster poofed into the small spry fox and scuttled under the goblin and up the basalt collumns.

The Metals all attack at the goblins. Copper clawing his way at them.

Copper: “Awww, they reek too! Egggghhh!!!”

The goblin attacking Aster was confused and almost did a forward roll as it follows the little fox running between it's legs. It turned and started climbing up the columns after his (slightly smaller) meal.

The goblin who'd jumped at Makna, chomped loudly in mid-air - missing Makna due to her scooting backwards. It dropped onto the floor then made some nonsensical gargle sounds and a few of it's friends came to help it fight/eat the dragon. All three stepped forward and began swiping their long arms at Makna's legs.

The goblin attacking Serenity hadn't expected the woman to pick up a chunk of basalt, it's claws scraped across the grey rock's surface, protecting Serenity from the swipe. The goblin turned back from the swing and screamed loudly in Serenity's face.

Cate's Goblin is hit by a spell and yelps, grabbing it's butt and letting go of the witch's ankle. The goblin dragging Andrew starts to tug him towards the pool of water at the back of the cave - possibly to stop him creating more fires... or to take him back to the goblin den below.

The goblins are quite strong, despite their stature. The one attacking Danivere sniggered at her attempts to prize it's hands away from her neck. It leaned forward trying to bite at her face.

Out of reflex Genii kicked and punched at whatever had his leg in it's mouth. The goblin released him and the panicked Siren quickly shuffled away on his backside - accidentally bumping into Cate. "Ahhh!" Genii screamed and raised a fist at the woman. “Sorry - I thought you were a troll.” Both Gen and Cate's goblins ran towards them from both sides.

Daemon's goblin tried to grasp onto Daemon's shoulders with it's clawed hands, in an attempt to stop the Monster Hunter from pushing it away. It snapped it's teeth and snarled in a hungry rage.

Gemma stopped screaming, delved into her bag and pulled out her saucepan. She held it out in front of her like a weapon to try and scare off her dribbling goblin stalker. It didn't appear to be threatened in the slightest though. “ERRAS!” Gemma started screaming again.

It's quite a challenge to remove a great sword whilst sitting on the floor, but Erras awkwardly managed it. He used the weapon to slice clean through one of his attacker's arms as it made to slash him again. The goblin howled and clutched at its spurting arm stub.

Bellah hopped to her feet and gave her goblin a good kick in the loin cloth area.

The Metals seem to be doing well. They were ready for battle and the goblins don’t have armour to protect themselves from the trio’s weapons.

Copper's claws slice through his goblin attacker and it drops to the cave floor with a thud. He may be able to help some of the others.

Serenity smashes the basalt chunk into the goblin's face a couple of times. Even without knowing she has a surge or how it works, she is still rather strong due to her build and size. She lets the other goblins hear a vicious battle roar.

Andrew desperately tries to cling onto basalt formations that may pass his path as he continues to get dragged away. Cate activates her wind shield spell which envelops her and Genii. If there's rubble laying around, it might have been swept into the maelstrom as well.

Danivere quickly activates her surge to harden her body, in order to deflect the biting attack on her face. She wasn't planning on getting eaten today.

Daemon was in too close of a range to use his axe. He improvises and pulls out a curled tusk out of his pocket, from a creature he has slain in the past. With it he hopes to hold off the goblin at close range.
Perhaps being a scavenger is a good thing in this situation... He thinks.

Aster hops from one collumn to another.

Makna bristles angrily and rears up to kick.

Small stones, and the ash from the group's fire all sweep into Cate's magical maelstrom. Genii watched as the shield swirled around them, protecting them from the goblins attacks.

Serenity's loud battle cry distracted Gemma's opponent long enough for her to whack it over the head with her clay cooking pot. It smashed to pieces as it slammed down on the creature's skull - the shards quickly sucked up into Cate's vortex. The goblin flinched and turned back to Gemma with an angry hiss.

Andrew's goblin roughly tugged at the man's ankles each time he tried to latch onto something. As it dragged him to the side of the pool/underwater tunnel, it made to kick the sorcerer's head with one of it's large bare feet - hoping to knock him out.

As Danivere's surge was triggered the goblin trying to throttle her could no longer squeeze the woman's neck - it now being as strong as one of the basalt columns. Not being a very intelligent creature, the goblin let go of Danivere and tried to head-butt her instead.

The goblin pursuing Aster get's frustrated as the tiny fox evaded it. The creature began breaking off and throwing large chunks of basalt at Aster.

Daemon's goblin is fixated on eating him, so doesn't notice the Monster Hunter pulling the tusk from his pocket. It digs it's long black claws into Daemon's shoulders and tries to bash the man against ground/basalt to stop him struggling. ((I can't remember if he's on the ground or not. ))

Erras was struggling to get up, his back gave him enough trouble already - even before the goblin dug it's claws in. The one armed goblin ran at Erras in a vengeful rage. All the knight could do was get a good grip on his sword - raising it just in time to skewer the monster through it's chin and out the top of it's grotesque head.

Bellah had lost Aster (though she spotted his clothes on the ground). She caught sight of Makna and rushed over to help the dragon, stabbing one of the goblins in the back. The other two goblins try to attack Makna's tummy as she raises up.

Gen quickly inspected his shin as Cate protected them from the goblins. He had a semi-circle of red holes through his boot and leggings. "Can't you turn them all into frogs or something!?" he yelled to Cate over the noise of the whirlwind. The two goblins circling the maelstrom began picking up and pelting large chunks of rock at it.

Serenity's goblin looses most of it's teeth as she slams the rock into it's face over and over again. It slumps to the floor unconscious due to the violent attack.

((I'm really anxious for Andrew! Underwater tunnels are something I find really terrifying. ))

Aster hop, skipped and jumped around the chunks of rock being flung at him before loosing his patience, the small fox belching out fire at his assailant.

Seeing the goblins being un perturbed she made an attempt to flop onto the with all her weight.
