Gorn lifted the little ape out of the lake and sat him on his shoulders so the four-legged fish couldn't bother him.
The toad croaked at Sean again before swimming and climbing onto the shore. Five more popped up out of the water and went to join it, all croaking and trilling. They didn't seem to be hostile, just big and slimy looking. Their bulbous eyes were the size of tennis balls.
"Dani, look at these guys." Genii went to get a closer look. "Awwe... those two are hugging." They weren't hugging.
Bellah laughed behind her hand and tried not to look at the 'hugging' toads. "We should make our way across the water." she said, looking out to the island in the centre of the lake. They could swim across, but it would take a while. She also wondered what else might be in the water, other than giant amorous amphibians.
