All Erras had time to do was pick up a throw pillow and place it in front of his face. Incredibly⌠it worked. The castle guard had a quick peek through the door, but seeing nothing out of the ordinary he shrugged and left the group alone again.
Eira spotted Aster and bounded over through the air excitedly.
Bellahâs hair and ears blew about as the creature landed on the balcony and boisterously fussed the Spirit caller.
Genii dropped the tiny soldier back on the Regentâs war board. âI know what you did to Erras.â He said angrily as he crossed the room.
The Regent shot Callan a dark look before turning back to Genii with a softer expression. â⌠Iâm afraid whatever happens to Erras is his own doing. He kidnapped the Sovereign, stole the Avaain and lied to the Court⌠he will be punished in accordance with the law.â
âHe should have been punished years ago for abandoning the King.â Callan gave his opinion as he picked up the model soldier Genii had dropped.
âCallan-â The Regent warned, but the Knight continued.
âIn fact⌠I wouldnât be surprised if he was the one who beheaded Aedan in the first place.â Callan mused, staring at Gen as he snapped the tiny soldierâs head off with his thumb.
Genii had no idea his father had been beheaded. Erras never went into any detail. He stared at the little headless man in Callanâs hand for a moment. â⌠Erras wouldnât do that.â He finally defended.
âThatâs enough⌠Callan, leave us.â The Regent ordered. The Knight looked surprised, but he bowed and left the two blue-winged sirens alone.
