Eh, my thing on it -- if you gotta do it, you gotta do it. I'm all for making my internet experience "drama free".
That doesn't mean I'm gonna block every single person out there I might not agree with. It just means that when I'm on the internet, I expect relaxation. And if I happen to be following or constantly seeing someone within my internet experience who disturbs that, I will either unfollow them or block them.
I know I've had to do that for a few people on Tumblr. They weren't even assholes either -- but the drama they continued to get into and breathe was suffocating for me, and each time I got online, it was something new with them negatively. I didn't block them, but I did quickly unfollow them. Most of the people I have blocked have been assholes or trolls. And I just...don't deal with it. And I'm sure others have done the same for me -- I just might not even know because I don't know them.
There doesn't have to be a clean cut reason to block someone online (though the more serious cases like doxxing and whatnot are a must). people will always do that for any reason, serious or not, and we just...gotta keep it moving. Even if I've been blocked and don't know why -- I just take it as "ey, they didn't like me and I most likely made them uncomfortable. But i didn't know them well enough and understand this, so it's not skin off my nose"
