Here are Flare's and Takeru's updated bios for the rematch. (I'll get the Dragoon armor descriptions and better drawings of both them and their armor to you soon.)
Flare
The hot headed leader of the new Dragoon team and former captain of the Solus Guard currently sent on vacation to the town of Kidemanos by order of Queen Windetta. Flare often tries to put up the front of a cool, indifferent teenager when in reality, he has massive anxiety issues and will often crack under large amounts of pressure. Heās very hot-headed, quick to anger, and prone to becoming bent out of shape at the slightest thing. His anger stems from a wellspring of self-esteem issues regarding many things like anxiety, body image, and identity issues. Heāll often try to play tough to save face and seem above it all, which often leads to many not liking him. He is a prodigy in regards to combat and strategy back at the Sky Knight academy back at his home of Dawn Metropolis and quickly rose to the top of his class there However, he gets very little respect from his peers due to his abrasive, smug, and angry attitude. He also is very unhappy with his current situation due to his love of work and the supposed incompetence of his Dragoon team. Despite this, he deeply cares for his squad mates and deeply respects them and works with them to help improve their own particular skillsets. Despite his very active lifestyle and constant use of a very large sword, he still has a very scrawny physique, especially when compared to other companions, which leads to him being very insecure about his own body. He also has a very mysterious past, with many people noting that he was found by Queen Windettaās elite guards wandering around the deserts of Magnum Zeishun saving various villages from attacks with a sword commonly used by the (currently sealed away at that point) Netherworlders with very little memory of where he came from or how he got there. Despite all this baggage however, Flare has a very strong sense of morality and justice and will fight hard for what he truly believes is right. However, he is often overzealous on his methods and will often resort to violence as a first solution to his problems. However, he is surprisingly well read and versed in many different cultures with a respect for authority, making him somewhat good at diplomacy with other kingdoms.
As the leader of the Dragoons and the former captain of the Elite Solus Guard, he is one of the most skilled members in terms of combat and sword skills. Heās a prodigy in multiple forms of melee weapons, but he specializes in swords, lances, and maces. He also has some proficiency in ranged weapons as well, namely his flintlock pistol and arm cannons. However, he lacks skills in other ranged weapons and hand-to-hand combat to the point where it was one of the few classes back at the academy he outright failed at. Heās also an excellent strategist that can form multiple different attack strategies on the fly, adjust them at will, and figure out his enemies' weakness in a matter of minutes. However, his greatest weakness is the fact that he works his best as a team player giving commands and fighting alongside teammates, meaning that even though he can hold his own in a solo fight, heās at a disadvantage and canāt form as many great solo strategies then. He also tends to rush into battle without thinking as a front to catch his opponent off guard, discover their weakness, and hopefully overwhelm them right at the start. Heāll also often fall back to the berserker brute force approach when heās exhausted other options, especially when fighting alone. Heās also not as skilled with his elemental magic as other dragons, preferring to just stick with basic attack and defense fire magic spells like fire balls or launching flames out of his hands and feet to fly. However, he is a quick learner, but hates the actual process of doing so. His special ability is the ability to for nigh-impenetrable forcefields of varying sizes and shapes. Heās become so skilled at this ability that he can form them off his person on use them for offense as well to knock away others, though he can only form these ranged shields for a very short period of time, usually about a second or two. He also tends to have his shielding power on at low levels as a sort of āsecond skinā to help protect him, though it does drain his natural Tenkaryu energy to do this. His shields to have some rather large weaknesses however, first is that he can only block attacks he knows that are coming, meaning that any form of sneak attacks would instantly nullify the shield. Second, his shields can only sustain enough damage before they break and must recharge. The larger the shield, the weaker it is, meaning that he canāt protect others with it as well as he could protect himself. His shields also drain a large amount of his natural energy very quickly with a lengthy recharge time as well, especially when he expands his shield to include others. His preferred weapon is a large sword with an engine in the hilt called Nethersbane. This sword can change its weight for ease of use, be used as a hover board, and take on different elemental properties depending on the user. Itās also made out of a special stone called āVamporeā, a semi-sentient rock that can absorb organic liquids to increase its strength. The sword was specifically forged to defeat Netherworlders and things related to them. Flare also has the uncanny ability to detect dark energy and forms of trickery like illusion along with a bizarre immunity to Nether Goo, which has a corruptive effect on anything else.
From the start, Flare has the best synchronization with his Knightro partner and seems to be the strongest of his team right out of the gate. However, his armor has the most basic of them with very little in the way of actually unique special abilities. Due to his armor being designed as the leader of its team, the main skill of the armor is the ability to help the user form complex team strategies and transmit the visuals to other members of his group. His armor can also function as a homing beacon of sorts for other Knightros and Dragoons that have partnered with a Kinghtro. This allows his teammates and other friendly Dragoons to triangulate on his position and find him in case they ever get separated. However, it also means that he can be hunted down by enemies who are Dragoons or have high enough sensitivity to Dragoon and Knigthro related phenomena as well. Thankfully, this power is only active when Flare is in his armor, but it is also on at an extremely low level at all times when out of his armor, allowing his teammates to easily locate him if needed. The main drawback of his armor is that due to its elemental magic and built in abilities, it can burn through its Tenkaryu energy reserves fairly quickly.
Takeru Grey
A stoic ninja assassin turned med student and the second in command of the new Dragoon team. He has had a very tough life that has resulted in him having a rather jaded and cynical outlook on life. However, his life has started to get slightly better as of late. It started when he was inducted into a secret program to create the ultimate assassin, in which he underwent many horrific experiments to create it. After the experiment failed, Takeru returned home and his parents disappeared shortly afterwards, forcing him to look after his young sister. He began taking up mercenary missions for cash as the āYin-Tang Tigerā, specializing in assassination and stealth missions, he became well known throughout the criminal underworld of Anticthon. Eventually, his sister fell gravely ill and Takeru began to feel incredibly worn down from his lifestyle so he decided to retire from mercenary work, move to Kidemanos, and start studying to be a doctor so he can start saving lives instead of taking them. However, he still does mercenary jobs on the side to pay for school and his sisterās medical expenses. Due to his hard life, Takeru has a very flexible moral code and is perfectly fine with using less than moral methods to get the job done, much to his other teammateās (especially Flareās) disgust. Due to the experiments performed on him, he is very unemotional and has a hard time empathizing and forming connections with others, even though heās been trying. He does, however, deeply care about his sister, family, and his friends. He works best and prefers to work alone. Because of all of the above, he and Flare often clash with each other and he feels that he shouldāve been the leader. However, the two do respect and trust each other deep down. Because of his sisterās condition and his caring for her, he deeply cares for children and wants to fight so children will never have to experience the pain he went through.
As the deputy leader of the Dragoons, Takeru is a decent leader, though his quiet nature makes it hard for him to share his strategies with others or let them know what heās thinking. Heās used to and prefers to work alone, so forming team strategies and fighting alongside them is not his strong suit. He specializes in fast, quick, and stealthy strikes preferring to end fights as quickly as possible. He tries to use his environment to his advantage to get the jump on his opponents, hoping to take them by surprise and finish them there. However, if his opponent counters his opening attack, then Takeru is at a disadvantage and has to work hard to come up with a new strategy on the fly. Heās very skilled with various weapons and forms of hand-to-hand combat. Even though he and Flare are similar in terms of power level and skill, Takeru is a bit faster and weaker than Flare, meaning he canāt take as many hits as Flare can. Heās also the fastest and most agile of the team not counting Huky using his speed power or Zephyr. In regards to his elemental magic, he namely fights by forming various weapons and constructs out of ice to aid in combat and mobility. He also is a powerful telekinetic and often uses it to his defensive advantage. His special ability allows him to enhance his vision to see through most materials at its base form. However, due to the experiments performed on him, his eyes were replaced with specialized optics that not only enhanced his natural X-Ray vision, but also granted him a slew of other vision based powers as well. Including night vision, infrared, ESP, and telescopic among others. His preferred weapon is a short ninjato with a gun in the hilt that can fire off small energy shots, perfect for his pragmatic and efficient fighting style. In his armor, he uses a specialized six shot bow with a pull back hammer that fires off arrows of elemental energy without the need for reload. He can also plug in special cartridges to augment his blasts with special elemental attributes. His armorās special ability allows him to produce multiple thin, but strong, wires that he can use grapple things from a distance, cut through many substances, build webs and others constructs, and many other uses. His training also allows him to control his own natural Tenkaryu energy in a way that allows him to augment his physical prowess as well as fire off blasts of pure energy, usually in the shape of a tiger or dragon, though this technique exhausts his supply quickly and needs a lengthy recharge time afterwards. Heās also the most likely to utilize his armorās Burst mode, a super form that ties into a dragonās natural overdrive state to temporarily provide the user with a massive boost to their abilities at the cost of draining them of all their energy reserves and forcing them out of their armor afterwards followed by a very lengthy recharge time. Though Takeru will often push this and many of his other natural abilities to their absolute limits, even if it often results in major injuries afterwards.
Can't wait for the rematch!
