Blake ended the spell that was on Flor and Morgan. “There,” she said.
Shura took off his helmet and examined the damage on Xander’s hand. “You didn’t have to use it.”
“There was no time to plan or prepare for something like that,” Xander sighed. “I did what I could. No cities were destroyed this time. No one lost their home.”
“But we lost a life,” said Reilly, referring to Adrestia. “If we know how to deal with a Banshee, maybe we could’ve—“
Xander placed his left hand on his son’s shoulder. “As much as we want to save everyone, we can’t. All we can do is save all we can, while we can.” He looked down a this hand. “No matter the cost...” he mumbled.
Ribbon peeked out of Morgan’s pocket and locked eyes with Mimir.
“Jörmungandr?!” Mimir blinked. “How’d you get so tiny?”
Ribbon hissed.
“What do you mean, ‘what am I talking about?’ You’re—“ Mimir paused and sighed. “I give up.”
“Flor,” said Jan. “Take Mimir with you. At least, you can let him dangle by the rope to put on your waist.”
