“Honestly, we took the gate to head back home,” said aurora. “It should’ve linked up properly to the one in my lab, but I guess something happened after we stepped through. The only vacation I need right now is some relaxation in the lab where I can tinker all day.”
“The Phaedra and Mushin aren’t food,” Xander explained. “Even though they sound like they could be the names for a tasty snack.”
“It’d be a lot easier if he showed you,” Aurora winked at him.
“Finally...” Xander whispered excitedly as small wisps manifested and sparked around him. “Try not to blink.” The wisps spun around him faster and faster until he was engulfed by a bright light. Slowly, it cracked and the shattered like glass. Xander’s crimson-red eyes changed to a platinum tint and a silver aura was radiating from him. “This is Mushin.”
“When he’s like this,” said Aurora. “To give the short version, he’s either equal or stronger than gods in our universe. The Phaedra, on the other hand...”
Xander took a deep breath and quietly exhaled. His silver aura and platinum-tinted eyes faded. “The Phaedra is something I was born with. It’s both a gift and a curse, but it’s also sentient. So I can’t bring out its power whenever I want. It’s also a long story.”
“It’s often referred to as ‘the power to light the universe’,” Aurora explained. “Whatever that means. They're both unique to just him too.” Her stomach growled as she sheepishly raised her hand. “I’ll... take some food too.”
