Flare hugged her back, clutching to her soft fur an sobbed silently. She kept holding for a long time, squizing Serena slightly tighter before she let go.
The girl wiped away the tears.
"Thanks Serena" she managed to say. "Anyway, why don't we pick up Billie, grab some food and go to see the next match. It seems it's gonna be a good one!" She said, trying to evade what had happened.
Shade kept swearing when he was picked by Luca, thankfully it was all aster language, so she couldn't catch a word.
"Hey, you! Putf me downf!! Alfso I'm notf an angel, I'm anf after!!!" He shouted, his feathers all ruffled made him look twice his side, and twice as fluffy. "That's great" he told Jim as he struggled to get free, though he truly meant it. Rip had been one of the most powerful and hardwoking fighters in the tournament, he deserved it.
(@reign, I can only help with drawing . About drawing backgrounds, as many people say use references they are very useful, I'd suggest to have diferent files with different types of backgrounds photos like forests, cities, mountains... So that you don't have to waste time.
I'm not the best at drawing battle scenes, but I do know some tips: exaggerate everything (line of action is important), don't draw the exact moment when the character is being hit always choose a little after that, movement lines and motion blurs are your friends and also choose dynamic poses.
I tried to use some of them on Chapter 2 of my comic and It worked pretty well!)
(Story wise, I have most of my comic planned, at least the big events and a timeline as well as a map for the journey. Once I've got that I start writing as I go for two reasons (1) I have more room to change things if I don't really like them (2) it leaves mh characters more freedom to act true to themselves without being flat).
