“Hm. I would have thought some pieces would have scattered in the streets. I guess the Reign Note is picky,” Cedric said. They waited for a while. Betcha came back out with the piece in his hand. He looked proud of his work, but also disgusted.
“Besides the fact that you guys now made me lie about dissecting things, I think we’re off to a good start,” he said. Before he could put it in Cedric’s hand, the Reign Note issued a white light, almost like a web, that flung out and stuck to Airis’s forehead. The piece of the Reign Note pulsed. Suddenly it showed Airis’s memories to the group.
Airis stood at the mirror with his father, clothed in a long robe that shimmered like stardust. His father dismissed him after they talked. As he walked through the hallway, a giant explosion came from him, sending a shockwave throughout Atove. A ghost version of Airis was yanked out of the dressed up one. He flew through the window, went through a portal underwater, and ended up in Rularis, where his body solidified.
“So...that really is the other half of Airis,” Betcha said. “That means the other one is...”
“Still after the Reign Note,” Cedric said.
