Tapas Home page is centered around the Comics and not the Novels :(

That's probably because majority of the audience is comic centred. But you're right in the novels part too. Maybe they could still benefit if they showcased the popular novels and get the audience attuned to the presence of novels more.

Edit: I've been thinking on this. What if they showcase the novels and when someone clicks on it, they redirect the people to that Popular/Fresh/Trending page, right up to where the novel currently exists? That way the audience will be more exposed to other novels in that page.

Yes, but we have to remember that comics are tapas’ main product and if I am correct, novels were only recently introduced? Even so, their staff said reading comics is easier than reading novels, so of course more comics will be featured. I would just say to be sure to promote your novel outside of tapas as well, you’re pretty much on your own here

I'm not too knowledgable on this, but a lot of people are leaving wattpad. Tapas could profit from this by appealing to the novel readers by expanding their novel section perhaps?

I had no success on the novel-oriented sites, so I like how Tapas does it, giving their audience a choice, but not creating conditions for a novel flood. Tapas as is, has troubles absorbing the influx from Wattpad in July-October. Oversaturated market is not fun. And it’s about what the audience wants. And people always, always want pictures rather than text.

Why are people moving from Wattpad to Tapas so quickly? Is there something I'm not aware of, besides how the site drastically changed their interface?

The changes, yes, they have killed what was left of visibility and circulation. Wattpad’s success pretty much made it into a perfect copy of the industry, where very few become famous while the rest sits in the slush pile that simply cannot be seen.

But, yeah, if you want huge jackpot win, go to Wattpad and fight the good fight there.

On Tapas, we are a novelty sideline, and that means modest success, but it is not a big fat zero you would get on Wattpad.

If Tapas makes novels more visible, most views would go to Before&After.

I think it is more because there are so many creators on Wattpad that your work will get lost in the shuffle a bit. A lot of creators are moving over or expanding to tapas because they want a shot at their work being noticed. I know I have a lot more interaction on Tapas than I do on Wattpad. Just because there are fewer novels and creators and books on here to compete with.

Do people even look at Fresh novel releases here on Tapas?

If your novel doesn't get featured, it stagnates. You'll be lucky to get a single look at your first episode. You can update daily or near-daily, and it won't make any real difference.

Would Tapas get more novel reads if they gave novels more visibility? Who knows.

@domisotto So true! I see so much potential in Tapas. Reading the stories from 2016-17, the views were equivalent to Wattpad's.

Comic book guys bring the eyeballs and we get a % of that. They are a fantastic free promo with their art and links all over the media that values pictures, not text. They are our biggest, best and most generous friends.

No, I am serious.

Basically, who goes to Wattpad? Girls who want to read about bad boys in high school (I am sorry, the older men of 17 years of age who are very, very hot) and who posts there? Those same girls and everyone else, including those who are trying to reach pro level, have full on majors in English, Creative Writing or Journalism etc. If you are neither of those extremes, dreadful but relatable or perfect, your chances are slim.

Who goes to tapas? People who look for comics with lots of love stories and pretty artwork. Some of them wanna read the same stuff too in a novel format. Work for them, and the comic book guys already did all the advertisement with their beautiful pictures of hot demons locked in a passionate embrace. They tell everyone on the internet: Come to Tapas, the Fantasy-Romance central in any flavor! Flip through the pics, maybe check out some stories too.

And they do it well. And thank you for that! They are out pulp-fiction magazines haven.

It's actually the same for comics, believe it or not Basically it's safe to say people never go anywhere but front page.

I understand that Comics are the draw, and I understand putting them at the top of the home page... but my thing is they have so many categories on the home page for Comics that just are not there for the Novels. Like the new and noteworthy (which is not their staff picks, it is something else) and the fantasy and romance section for comics on the home page.

Could we not do more categories at the bottom of the home page to make it easier for us to find new things to read? IDK they probably have a huge business plan and a reason why that won't work just yet?? IDK
