I have been in love with Lady Evony since the first episode of her life story. She spent five years in hell, being treated like less than the shit on the bottom of a shoe. True, His Excellency may have sponsored her freedom, but she has fought long, and hard, and stubbornly kept pushing forward to improve and strengthen herself. She is paving a way for the oppressed women of her world to rise up and take control of their own lives, their own destinies. Before I read the story, I was like, meh, just another romance with pretty art and subplot to pair the leads, but I’m ashamed of myself now. The story is absolutely fantastic, and the artwork, though stunning, is merely a backdrop for the story being told. If you haven’t read it, start! It will literally change your life. I no longer take my freedom as a woman for granted, and it’s all because at one point, we had someone like Evony in our past, fighting for our freedoms.
