It's still really hard to qualify for their ad revenue program, and nearly impossible if you create remotely mature content. I actually make money off of Tapas through tips and ad revenue, and none from WT. I'm unikely to ever make money from webtoons.
As great as this is, I'm pretty sure I've had a higher converstion to patreon from Tapas than WT. But I have a larger number of subs and have been here longer, so that does factor into it.
I really like the tipping feature of tapas. While it's not perfect, it is a nice way for users without disposable income to still offer monetary support. The comment and sub system is generally better than what Webtoons offers.
Tapas is younger. I think it's more likely that it's still growing, rather than becoming obsolete. Which isn't to say Tapas doesn't have many areas it needs to improve. We need a better set up for genre. We need more exposure for smaller creators, and to not have premium content take over. But these are things Tapas is (hopefully) working on. So I'm certainly not lacking in hope. =)
Which also isn't to say WT isn't great too. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Personally I'm partial to tapas. I really enjoy the community, I've had good growth, I like the set up.
