The 940px Resolution of Taptastic is becoming antiquated by new hardware:
My imac is 5120px and my iphone is 1080px.
There is a noticeable lack of quality when Taptastic is scaled up to full screen.
I understand the need for small file sizes.
Taptastic is already ahead of the curve in the pixel department, Hopefully there will be an update soon ensuring that they stay that way.

My laptop is really old and barely handling my 1000-1800px files
I don't want to imagine having to work on bigger ones, RIP PC.

You have to think about storage space. Larger dimensions mean larger file sizes.
Data storage can get quite costly.

The average youtube video takes up way more storage than any comic.
The higher res might not be a concern for some artist styles
but for highly detailed comics on modern hardware a pixel boost is a better experience.

Yes, but this isn't Youtube. And I'm pretty sure that Tapastic's wallet is nowhere near as large as Google's.

I have to agree, I would't mind seeing that limit increased.

But, you could always post the 940 version here and host it on your own website as well and go nuts there.

The last update we had took the majority of the website offline. I don't think it could handle another.

Cost of storage is not the issue, they have very large investors in Korea and US.
bandwidth for download speeds on older hardware is the consideration here.

I really don't mind it being 940px, as long as it's a decent resolution, the image quality should be ok. I'm just glad Tapastic allows you to add files up tp 2MB, some websites I have to save it from the internet just to upload my comic. The only down side is, you can't have 2 page spreads.

ugh i have full HD(1920px) on a 13.3in screen and it isn't compatible with tapastic at all. the text is unreasonably tiny when the images are at 100% zoom ?

Count me in for larger pixel width. I post here and my other mirror sites at 900px, but at 2100px on the NO-Earth site itself. Makes a huge difference!

As it stands, I don't mind the pixel width, it works just fine for me and honestly its the biggest I've seen with the few comic hosting sites I looked into. I'm sure the option to up the size will come up later, but as it stands its perfectly fine the way it is, I can see everything just fine on my laptop and on my phone.

Canadian, can confirm data limitations are terrible, 500mb of data plus basic cell plan will throw you back $60+ a month if each page was the full 2mb as a standard the apps usage cost to the user would quickly drop to uninstall levels.
