A Murder Hobos Fairy Tale
A warm evening sea breeze blew over the village like a comforting blanket of thick owlbear fur. The sun kissed the sea at the horizon across Blue Pearl lagoon. Tired fishermen rowed their boats into the village's lone dock, and pearl diving ladies carried their baskets from the beach. In the village of Fishstink, the scene was typical. The only players who changed were visitors from the other villages on the island who gathered every night at the Salty Dragon Tavern and Inn.
You enter the loud and bright little tavern filled with smoke and fried fish smells. A barmaid waves you in. She calls, "Don't be shy, Stranger. You are welcome here." A minstrel stops playing his accordion, and all eyes turn to you. The barkeep, an large human woman with a booming voice, tells you, "We have a tradition here. As a first time visitor, you get a free ale if you tell us all your name and how you were raised."
