Not really, during hockey season the shit gets really petty, but outside of that finns like all their neighbours (except russians) fine. Honestly, the people finnish have a problem with is the fenno-swedes, not actual swedish.

at least Webtoons is generous enough to cover the artist's bills. there's this creator i know who solely makes comics for a living.

I don't know if anyone bitched about it yet, but I hate when people pledge stuff on my patreon, steal all patron-only content, then take off their pledge without paying anything. Please, Patreon, can you please do something about it? Ugh.

artists need to take better care of themselves, especially us digital ones.
it pains me to see how many artists online will complain/joke about overworking themselves (getting hand cramps, back pains, headaches) and just call it part of being an artist.
and a lot of the artists i keep tabs on seem to have some sort of muscle-related illness that makes art hard for them at times. but i have to ask, could being hunched over a cintique for 10 years 10 hours a day with your hand wrapped around a stylus without a break have something to do with it? it makes me wonder, and worries me sometimes to the point of wanting to go traditional.
i do not want to become that person 15 years from now.
i love what i do but, i love my health even more.

you should too.

(if you draw for a living, i understand it might be more difficult to just "pull away," but at least try to take a break every now and then!)

Raise your hands, everyone who can't bend all their fingers!

I just want to bitch about Finland's Eurovision representative. Usually there's a vote but noooo, not this year! Saara Aalto was such a huge hit in the UK that now she gets to be Finland's ESC representative without any voting. What is this?! Are we so desperate for a win that all the fun gets cut out? And when will people realize that we will never win if we take ourselves too seriously. For crying out loud our only win was with Lordi! Ughhh!

Ehem. For you non-Europeans: Eurovision Song Contest is the best event of the year and it is very, very serious business.

not going to get in this too deep because the conversation ended itself, but...

You know what makes the tweet so ignorant? The misconception that church is a magical place where nothing can go wrong.
a church is simply a gathering place for people of one religion. the fact that these poor people were at church had NOTHING to do with the fact that there was a shooting.
as a Christian, I'm glad people still have the decency to offer their prayers. it shows the love hasn't completed faded away from humanity (sad that people only seem to "get religious" when there's a tragedy though).

when nonbelievers try to act like they understand faith :expressionless:

Everyone has faith. None of us would get through the day if we didn't believe in something.

The moment we lose hope, that's the time we take a gun to church and go pew pew pew at the pew pew pews.

. . .

EDIT: Well that's got 'em rolling in the aisles.

To help mitigate the problem you can turn on the option in your Patreon account to charge people upon their initial pledge. So once they choose to support you, the amount they pledge will be charged right off the bat regardless what time of the month they do it.

Doesnt matter whether its traditional or digital- those conditions happen with any artist who is perched at their desk for long hours of the day every day. I used to spend hours at my drawing desk, drawing, lightboxing, inking...

@NickRowler I'm only half-serious about the clubbed thumbs. That was what famed Victorian palmist Cheiro maintained, but I like to think that the art has advanced a little since then. Clubbed thumbs may not necessarily indicate murderous tendencies. They could instead indicate heart disease.

. . .

@hotsubsandwich So this girl is about to marry a notorious bisexual. They make a great couple but the girl's mother is a little wary.

"Anna," she says. "I know you love him and everything, but if he ever asks you to turn over, well . . . just don't!"

"Okay Mama," the daughter says. And the wedding is a success, the honeymoon is lovely, and the first few months pass in wedded bliss.

"Does he . . . does ever ask you to turn over?" the mother asks one time. They're on the phone, the daughter is cooking spaghetti.

"Oh, no Mama," Anna says. "Everything is going just fine."

"Are . . . are you enjoying yourself?" the mother asks. And the daughter sighs over the phone line. "It couldn't be better," Anna says.

So a few days pass. Then, as the couple is going to bed, the husband rolls over and taps her on the shoulder. "Sweetheart, you want maybe to turn over tonight?"

And the girl is instantly in tears. "She warned me! She warned me about you. My mother warned me and I didn't listen!"

The man is confused.

"What's the matter? Don't you want to get pregnant?"

Sadly it's not available for everyone. I, e.g. can't change it to "charge upfront" yet (they say, it's still beta and slowly roll it out)

well, I mean it's true to some extent-- hey, wait a dang minute! is this another...?

what did I do to deserve this... pun-ishment?

ok yah now what sucks, having to sleep in a freshly painted room with windows closed so the next morning you wake up with a headache that could break a fecking country in half, thanks to paint fumes, and now you are expected to give a fecking list of almost 100 companies and their telephones to a fecking social service school for the next day and an exam the same day, a Frigging English exam just so you can prove you don't need basic English classes cause you lived 3 years in USA, and to top it all of you have a movie report for the same day and math homework

I just wanna sleep god dang it :'C

I'm sick as a dog now due to stress and some idiots who never would cover their mouths...

I blame them, but their excuse of "It's going around" when they always use my stuff ESPECIALLY when sick gets on my nerves.
