I had my very first interview when I was 16 years old... Still in High School (grade 10), No one prepared me and they asked questions to stuff I've never even thought about (It was to get a study work while study and study while work type bursary - I go to school from 7 AM to 2 PM from there it's to work... Work included more study work as well since was being trained to work so while working learning and that was until 5 or 6 PM from there had to study for exams/test at school and also for test for the work to see if learning anything and had to get 75+ % )
The questions they asked to get this opportunity where Q's like lawn mower aint working "what's the fault" Hell I'm a girl! A girl who don't work or fix stuff!! I rather take them apart to learn how they work and that was it - it would remain "broken" worse than was!
16 Year old bullied girl... Shy as hell, can't even talk to family or friends when they come to visit for at least 15 minutes to an hour cause I have to get "comfortable" around them first... I'm pretty sure I have "depression" as well - also no therapy for me - my parents never believed in all this depression stuff and ADHD or whatever it's called - How the hell will I survive an interview???
So had to up and learn how to coup with all my emotions! I found certain stuff to do would help - like twiddling my thumbs or tapping my hand rhythmically against my leg helped to calm the nerves or if not the nerves helped me think. I loved singing though couldn't sing on my own found I could sing in a crowd like with a choir, so joined that and taught myself how to manage my life without therapy and medication and today I'm a working girl in a position that I have to interact with people.... Still scares me to ends, but I found my means to handle it!
There's always a way if there is a will so just breath, think and then answer, there's never a rush in interviews for answers, they are testing your thinking capabilities not your personal interaction skills.
