We miss the Nintendo network, where you could play with others. I wish someone else would get busy and create a pirate Nintendo network for us die-hard Mario Kart fans.

I heard that Sony filed a patent for a Virtual Console system for PS1, 2 and 3 games, something similar to the Nitendo Virtual Console.

But that doesn't seem to be available yet.

Well, yeah, since the PS5 is going to come out soon. Why can't Sony just make one all-in-one console and be done with it?

In fact, why can't someone create ONE BOX to play all games...? OR in lieu of that, a PC program or Cloud system that will allow you to play ANY game, on one computer. Those days are coming, I assure you.

The video console war is dying fast.

Are you kidding?! That's what we WANT. Play games off our TV/smartphone from a big massive game cloud with no need to program anything, or set anything, of use different equipment.

until you realise that It's going to be like Netflix, and that you have to pay a monthly subscription to access this content,

You can't buy or own anything,

EVER!!!

I am perfectly capable and willing to pay $9.99 a month to finally catch up on Tomb Raider and GTA.

but chance are, not everyone will be able to afford monthly commitments,

Especially when we have far too many streaming services happening at once,

Well, after broadcast and cable TV finish dying out, people are going to need something to do with the TVs besides streaming everything. AND it'll cost less because we won't have ABC, CBS, NBC and everyone else. they'll need to fill that void. they know they're facing a losing battle. The TV is going to be the main focal point around the house - and that's what "they" want. One nice big captive audience.

Just got off the phone with Paola, who was at the doctor's office:

Paola: All done. On my way home now.
Paul: That's cool.
Paola: Do you want me to stop and pick up breakfast?
Paul: Sure.
Paola: What do you want? McDonald's or the other place?
Paul: laughs the OTHER place?
Paola: Yeah, we should be referring to it by that name now.
Paul: So we will no longer speak its name?
Paola: No, it shall become the Lord Voldemort of fast food.
Paul: It shall be done.
Paola: So, crossanwiches then?
Paul: Aye. Lord Voldemort will be most pleased.
Paola: laughing on phone
Paul: And it will want fries with that...
Paola: more laughing, cuts off

Yeah, I'm thinking this could be why we're getting successful with "Insignificant Otters" the most, because of the bank and forth bantering. it's a lot like how we'd talk to each other.
