That's what I'm afraid of
Are you kidding?! That's what we WANT. Play games off our TV/smartphone from a big massive game cloud with no need to program anything, or set anything, of use different equipment.
and that's find and dandy,
until you realise that It's going to be like Netflix, and that you have to pay a monthly subscription to access this content,
You can't buy or own anything,
EVER!!!
I am perfectly capable and willing to pay $9.99 a month to finally catch up on Tomb Raider and GTA.
but chance are, not everyone will be able to afford monthly commitments,
Especially when we have far too many streaming services happening at once,
Well, after broadcast and cable TV finish dying out, people are going to need something to do with the TVs besides streaming everything. AND it'll cost less because we won't have ABC, CBS, NBC and everyone else. they'll need to fill that void. they know they're facing a losing battle. The TV is going to be the main focal point around the house - and that's what "they" want. One nice big captive audience.
So this is inevitable
Just got off the phone with Paola, who was at the doctor's office:
Paola: All done. On my way home now.Paul: That's cool.Paola: Do you want me to stop and pick up breakfast?Paul: Sure.Paola: What do you want? McDonald's or the other place?Paul: laughs the OTHER place? Paola: Yeah, we should be referring to it by that name now.Paul: So we will no longer speak its name?Paola: No, it shall become the Lord Voldemort of fast food.Paul: It shall be done.Paola: So, crossanwiches then?Paul: Aye. Lord Voldemort will be most pleased.Paola: laughing on phonePaul: And it will want fries with that...Paola: more laughing, cuts off
I'd read a book or comic of these kinds of conversations. They're a joy.
Yeah, I'm thinking this could be why we're getting successful with "Insignificant Otters" the most, because of the bank and forth bantering. it's a lot like how we'd talk to each other.
Love it. I'll go check it out then
Awesome, thanks!
Also, thanks for the subscribe and the likes.
Woor! Now 10 away from the coveted 250.
No problem! I read works sporadically until I catch up, so I'll randomly bombard you with likes. I hope you reach 250 subscribers soon! ^^
Maybe after one more targeted Facebook boost, we'll do it. Thanks!Still, I guess 240 in about two months is pretty good.
Since I love to draw but I'm not very good with comics, I decided to try doing visual novels during quarantine and I discovered a new and funny hobby! I've just released a small BL game for the spooky season and I'm working on two other projects that have demos right now. It was quite challenging because it requires more skills than just drawing, but the experience has been very fulfilling so far.
I sincerely want to learn more about making visual novels, for sure. It can only help with publicity. Any software pointers and examples you are really happy with? Your art is killer, btw.
Thank you so much for liking my art! <3 For coding the game I use the RenPy engine: https://www.renpy.org/ It's free and although it requires coding, it's very beginner friendly and straight-forward! (plus they have a clear documentation that explains the basics to code a simple game) You can see some examples of games made with RenPy on Itchio: https://itch.io/games/genre-visual-novel/tag-renpy
Other software that I use is Google Docs for writing the story (narration and dialogue) before copy/pasting it into the game's code, and Clip Studio Paint for the visuals. But you can replace both of these with any text editor / drawing software that you already use and you'll be good. For the music and sound effects I rely on Royalty Free stuff since I can't compose myself (although I'm interested in learning that too)
I thank you very much for this info. You're a very talented person and I imagine you can do anything you want to learn.
Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot I hope you can create amazing games!
