I’ve fallen in love with the whole aesthetic of analog photos and early 00’s digital photos. There’s a lot to learn about how to capture that “feel” other than putting a film filter over everything.

OC-tober Day 6: Symbols
Not excited for palette week where I'll have no excuse to avoid coloring. :'D

Colorber 06 - Mister Freeze.

@vapidink I understand the renuence to colors, but we all must play with them someday, and this is as good as excuse as any other =P

Wip - the colors on this were so horrible I needed to take a second and look at the flat work. Probably was just a very quick flat color, but it was so bad omg.

Haha, true, I just don't have as much time as I'd like to do much with color. Probably why my coloring's so shoddy most of the time, tbh.

Love your latest, but I'm a sucker for anything Batman related!

I feel like I haven’t been here in forever... Anyway, this is what my late night sketching consists of.

Regina sitting in the reception and as usual up to no good.
I´m not doing the Loomis warm up today because it´s saturday.
I´ll be working on Regina´s indroduction page

The hand reference is from a picture from Angela Merkel who always does
the same interesting hand gesture

Made a ref for a character from an animated series I’ll make eventually

A sketch of two new characters for my comic. The Blue girl is pretty much done but I´m not satisfied with the red one, maybe I'll give her a striped suit.

Bianca Castadiafore
that´s defintely one of the influences

I´m almost finished with the first page of the comic.
Like I wrote before, it´s kind of character development page for
Regina. It worked well because I only had to draw her + the same
background

I tried out colors for her, I try to find a skin tone which makes
her look unhealthy and I´m trying to make her hair look granny
style. Regina is only 48 years old by the way

Fall for Kombucha Festival (the scoby appears to be looking at Artemis). I Took the OC prompt as an excuse to draw these two quite a bit older (and Artemis has not gotten over her fear of kombucha yet).

And finished. Old Gal Penny and Artemis going festival-ing.

advice and opinions are welcomed

Colorber 07 - The Tick

I'm not gonna lie. The only reason why I want to learn anatomy is to draw characters like this.

Loving these pieces. For my senior yearbook quote, I quoted "The Tick." No regrets on that one.

You are right, I want her to look like someone who looks old for their age.
Regina wasn´t happy to hear what you wrote though

Some concept art for some villains plus some other random doodles.

Going to a creative conference next week so I need to jam out the next OC-tober. Apple picking (with a proud aunt at the bottom).

Regina as she sees her boss Mr.Jenkins coming into the building

Sketched out and drew a couple of important side character in my comic for a little reel on instagram!

Yeah don’t worry about the looming creature. It’s just chillin’

@Lensing isn't Regina a joy :joy: love when the secondary characters get such special place in the creator's and readers hearts xD

@l_vi your cast turned out really cute! :coffee_love: I really struggled with a big cast of kids characters back way when, so I suppose I kinda feel you

@Aleksei YES. This! xD also you're doing great with that limited color palette :muscle:

@DanielRKM creative conference? Tell us more :grinning:

Sorry for my inactivity guys, as some of you know I put Hex on hiatus because I just... couldn't. Thank you for all your kind comments, it means everything :cry_02: :heart::heart:
Also someone just left this one and I'm like ugly crying here lol

Anyhow I took a bit of rest, but I am still continuing a challenge in light form to learn something and breaking some chains. Can't post for obvious reasons, so yeah, here's some legs

Day 08 - Carmen Sandiego

Particullary proud of this one! I though that the palette was gonna fight me, but we worked together very fine at the end!

@Kelheor thank you! I am really out of my comfort zone, but I really should had started a long time ago to play with random palettes! Colors are scary, but they also can be very fun =D -Also, yeah, those kind of comments are the ones that make me go with my comic. Readers doesn't know how some kind words affect us positively.

Some concept art of some of the dragoons’ armors.

Not need to be sorry, I missed your sketches though

Yeah, it looks like Regina wants all the spotlight but I will start introducing
more characters this week.

Those legs look like they could just fit into my office comic
one working title was suits, stilletos and sexy secrets

@Kelheor break the chains!!! (And that drawing is fantastic). So I'm heading off to Adobe's yearly big show (can I say Adobe on here? 🤣 It always felt like it's a bad word on the forums and I feel like it definitely outs my privilege (... I am sure I've already outted myself before though). Looking forward to seeing the new tools across their spectrum of software (I've survived the creative job market by being ALL up on their creative cloud (pretty sure Character Animator and Premier saved my job a few times and kept my portfolio shiny). But I always enjoy getting inspired by some of the great artists that show up and give lectures (especially excited to see typographers crush it and show their process since that's a huge blind spot for me). Wish me luck, though. This is the first time I'm going completely solo, so I'll need all my energy to pretend that I'm extraverted. I lost the rest of my graphic design team to corporate layoffs a few years back (I'll never know how I survived when you see that much talent get cut away (my company's loss though, they flourished)). But despite my hesitations on solo conferencing, it's a show I'm always happy to attend (especially when the company is cool with sending me).

Monday morning Loomis front view and a sketch of the record cover of my
solo project. I will have it printed this week, I will print it on a thick cardboard
box material and need to find a copy shop where I can do that. I want it
to look like a 1950s radio promo single. The first sketch was with black
colors, then I tried it with a light red color and I think it looks way better
and more in the 1950s style

I sketched a super hot sex scene but I´m not sure if I can upload it on this,
probably not. The scene doesn´t include Regina
