Amazement Comics always tries to create female characters that are not just diverse in their body types and superpowers, but also with their ethnicities and personalities. These characters need to go through personal conflicts to make them more likeable. Contrary to popular beliefs in comics and other mediums that adapt comic book stories, the reality is that female characters CAN be sexy and still hold their own good and bad. Even someone as little as a supporting role can go through enough character development to make audiences care about their struggles. This is something that I'm continuing to work with in the LONG list of female characters within my shared universe. I'm trying to create stories that will make audiences appreciate these characters as much as their male counterparts instead of making them the cookie-cutter "mary sues".
The only problem that I see with these creators making a female character is that they're trying SO hard to create "strong" female characters in response to the rapid increase of feminism. They forget to give purpose to their characters such as making them fight their toughest battles, stuggles to fit in with the rest of the world, etc. Female characters have the potential to be truly awesome if comic artists could just find the balance between attractiveness (and not in the sense of overly exaggerating how they look in order to appeal to their demographic), strength, and endurance (being able to have their own stories without first being established as a sidekick or minor character).
