I'm working on a longer sci-fi series, with another creator, and we keep banging into this too during the world building ...so many people define sci-fi so differently. It really affects genre limitations and marketing a lot.

@Rodimus13 Yes, probably it's mostly thematic choice. I noticed it, too, when read some of comics from this category, which I didn't know yet.

• Afraid of Category Theory.
• Whine that Category Theory is too abstract, heavy and complicated for me to understand and use.

Also me:

• Writing the second paper, basing my speculations on categories, morphisms and commutative diagrams. Because, f*ck. The subjects I consider in them can be described so well and naturally on Category Theory language. It will be a sin to avoid it.

I didn't cry from real life events for a couple of months. But sometimes I create very-very sad stories in my head and cry, when nobody sees.
I don't know why. It's stupid like hell.

Emotions are just weird.

I can be relatively stable when big events/things happen but then get all choked up when I see a dirty stuffed animal on the side of the road. No matter what happened...there's got to be a sad story behind that.

This morning I just had oral surgery to remove three of my wisdom teeth. After having an IV Anesthetic and Laughing gas, I was conscious throughout the whole thing and the numbness just wore off. I don’t think I can fully focus on doing any art practice or writing until the pain starts to fade.

I'm always a bit worried when I get like 1 like a minute, adding up to 10 likes, over the course of 10 minutes... suddenly... all from one person. Like, maybe I'm a super slow reader, but these are longer bits and shouldn't be read in 1 minute....

Got the e-mail from MomoCon, and- I've been put on standby, again...

So waiting to see if someone cancels their commitment so that a table will open up for me. The only year I made it in without waiting was my first year in 2016- every year after that, I've been put on the waiting list; I guess the waiting list was so long that I didnt get to go in 2018.

Def want to go this year since they're moving the event to a BIGGER hall of the convention center; last year topped out with a little over 40,000 attendees- so they're getting more space to try & increase attendance.

I remember seeing a comment from an artist that when AA's try to expand past about 80 vendors, the money ends up spread so thin that unless you're AX, people don't really want to go back to vend unless it's REALLY close or they can make up the difference of cost Don't feel bad about waitlists. I got put on a waitlist for a teeny con down in Salem, OR this year that I've never been to and am just like "wow it's so small it can get full?" And someone mentioned that they passed on their table, so at least 1 slot opened, but I wasn't contacted for it. Just... cons are odd.
For clarity, I've been trying to sell at cons around the 2 states by me for the last 3 years and I'm constantly put on waitlists. The few I've gotten into I've barely made 80$ at.

I really like the atmosphere of MomoCon- even though it's an anime con, I do okay there. I enjoy seeing the cosplayers and other stuff goin on; it's a pretty live event.

There was this one other con that I usually do at the beginning of the year- Onyxcon, but this year that showrunner merged the show with another event and is charging outrageous prices for a table($400 for TWO DAYS), so that isnt happening; I was already debating on doing his show this year coz I felt the previous pricing was a little too much for where the event was being held...

My first con this year will be in March(table already paid for), so at least I wont be under pressure to have stuff ready/done/sent to the printers in January. One of the good things of now cutting down a lot of my bills & debt is that I have extra money to do stuff like paying for tables for "beginning of the year" shows and getting stuff printed for said shows. MomoCon is Memorial Day weekend, so def got MONTHS to get ready for that.
