Oh yes, I do that when the conditions are appropriate. About any subject, I do like showing people how their stereotypes are wrong, in a non-aggressive way, like.. giving them the opportunity to understand by themselves.
But today I could not do that, I mean, I could probably have done the same as him.. with the same result! No way I'm going to hurt myself at the beginning of the crop season to try to teach a lesson (in a pretty stupid way)..
This being said, I did the stupid competition thing more than once. But I think it's also a context thing, and how everyone involved has to be in the same mindset.
I remember that time a few years ago. I was waiting for a huge shipment from another province and I had hired a guy to help unload. The driver was late and that hired guy was getting paid for just sitting in the grass and chatting, which was making him uncomfortable, and he also wanted to go home for dinner. I was tired and annoyed. When the driver came, he was also very eager to be finished and go to his hotel.
We went CRAZY with the unloading. Like really stupid unsafe competitive crazy.
But we were all okay with it, that's the thing. If one of us had been hurt I would have thought we were all idiots but really it was a common idiotic choice so I don't have an issue with it. That was fun actually
