I don't know that you can really call it "esthetically very pleasing" though, LOL.
It definitely has it's charm design wise and I agree it aged better than Oblivion. Probably the sheer alien quality to the world insulates it from comparison. There are no real world examples of Vivecian architecture to say it doesn't live up too. Oblivion and Skyrim by moving to trope/genre castles, and such, lost that advantage.
There's no currently replicating the real time exploration of Morrowind to modern gaming with it's hand holding and various maps/mission menus. No scrolling on your phone for tips... Should I pick up Fury? Spoiler alert, don't pick up Fury.
Dammit. Now I gotta go play Morrowind instead of working on commissions.
