The watercooler: a place to chat

[feuersichel]

Can I get some of that hopium ^^ Maybe it's just a biiiig missunderstanding or translationerror

[PeteLensing]

I´m using the tapas gets sold thingy to have an excuse to stop uploading my comic

[PeteLensing]

I´ll have to live with the fact that I´m in love with new ideas and that I´ll have to be happy
with starting a lot of different ideas all the time. I have enough creative output (illustrations,
music etc) and have to be easy going about the whole comic thing. I put myself under
too much pressure trying to be consistent, which I´m just not.

[nathanKmcwilliams]

I feel that. I realized recently I prefer to take my time on my comics for high quality. It's not conducive for my creative process to do a consistent release schedule because I need space and time to create the story and visuals I want.

[PeteLensing]

I also don´t need additional stress through imaginary deadlines. I have enough
deadlines when I work for clients and in music. And same, I´d rather have one
high quality 20 pages print comic instead of hundreds of pages of fast and
rushed artwork

Had a root canal done yesterday. I had an infection that was making me sick and now I’m okay.
It was awful but I’m recovering. Take care of your teeth and health y’all.
Hopefully in the future I will be a lot slower and will take better care of myself.

[PeteLensing]

I think I just wrote the best story I´ve ever written in my life and that in under 20 minutes.
I had the story idea yesterday with old characters. It has a beginning and end and it all
makes sense. Maybe I´m getting better at this finally

[Shanny8]

@abigaillmartin been trying to get myself into a dental surgeon to have some wisdom teeth removed...

[nathanKmcwilliams]

Social media has trained many to think everything needs to be rushed and everything has to be monetized.
My goal the last year is to slow down and release control of the idea that my work has to be seen by thousands of people. The goal is no longer to find validation in viewership, it's writing a good story that I'd like to see put out into the world. If other people find it and like it, that's just a bonus.

[abigaillmartin]

I already had mine removed years ago. Make sure to take ALL the painkillers they give you. ️

[abigaillmartin]

And to that I say good luck dude.

[PeteLensing]

I already had mine removed years ago. Make sure to take ALL the painkillers they give you

make sure to take the painkillers with you when they send you home
I had 4 taken out the same day, my girlfriend at that time picked me up,
and they forgot to give her the painkillers and I didn´t think about it....ouhhhh

[PeteLensing]

The good thing about leaving my main band and getting rid of all the endless chats, voice mails,
constant organisation is that it helped me release a big wave of creativity.

I started building my new recording studio room which basically means throwing everything out,
I´ll put a new wooden floor into it and get a stage box for the cables for one room to the other and so on.

I wrote a story for the last 2 days, best story I´ve ever written, I love that world.

I also worked on my background drawing system. It was so hard to get to a point where
I´m fine with how backgrounds work with the characters. This is a quick sketch I just
did and that would work. Took me years to get to this point.

I makes me very happy!

[abigaillmartin]

Elsie reboot is looking pretty good
So far from what my sister read she likes it ️

[Shanny8]

So ordered the yard blower; it's arriving early this week(like Tuesday or Wednesday)...I got in the chair/ottoman combo but RETURNING it- it set too low to the floor & had no comfort for my upper back. Looking at some more chairs...

Been feeling a little drained this weekend, so there's been no progress on the art so far.

Finished reading the book so I'm taking October off from reading- I've now read almost 1200 pages this year; gonna get back to reading in November...also reached the end of the anime shows I've been watching(the Slime anime, Jobless Reincarnation, Smoking Supermarket anime, and [maybe] Daemons of the Shadow Realm)- not sure about Bleach TYBW- it's got 4 episodes left, but I didn't get a new episode this past week.

So...time to look for new anime to watch. Season 3 of Apothecary Diaries starts this week, so that's a start...

[abigaillmartin]

I need him to look at me like that 🥺

Bebe!

[SnarkyLisa]

Got any recs for ongoing anime?

[Shanny8]

Not sure...what type of anime shows do you like?

[Shanny8]

The yard blower arrived- as well as my sneakers...so I can stop [low key] stressing because these will go with most of what I wear(white & black Adidas Samoas); I still have my white & red Samoas as well...I originally wanted the all white Samoas but they cost more than what I was willing to part with.

Been trying to muster the energy to work on the piece throughout the week but also been tired, sliding in bed and trying to get enough sleep so that I can function at the day job...ever since fall started & the temps cooled down a bit(especially at night), I've been sleeping a little more decent than in the summer.

Started watching a new anime- Kill Blue, but I'm sure I'll finish it by next week(only 12 episodes); will also start watching a bunch of horror movies(when I get the chance) since it's now October.

[PeteLensing]

I will check out Kill Blue when I´m back. I soon need something new to watch
and I don´t have a clue about animes, but I like them.
