Q: Who inpsired your leads?
Visually, Friar's loosely based off a Franciscan/Gregorian style monk.
Alec is based off someone pretty obvious. Horace
Luke was actually made up on the spot, as are a lot of other chickens(just a mix and match of how I draw wattles/combs, size, colors, and patterns on feathers.
Q: What was/were your writing inspirations?
As far as storytelling? I used to read a ton of book as a kid, and had a teacher who read to the class(think that was when I learned what storytelling/imagination is, and started making up my own scenarios in my head.)
As for drawing, the sources are far too numerous. But I will say that what got me into digital drawing was watching Ross ODonovan (formerly from Gamegrumps) create wacky things on Pokemon Sketch. Other Youtubers have inpsired me as well, especially since I had art classes in the past but did not practice a lot at home.
Q:What has been the most rewarding patr of the process so far?
Sometimes, even when I hate what I draw or don't feel like I'll match the look I was going for, or just rushing for a deadline, I find that the process itself is rewarding. I messed up that face, let's leave it in to laugh at later. My perspective is wonky, but I like it that way. Damn, I'm getting better with rendering light and dark. And sometimes after running on fumes-self-imposed torture-I feel accomplished and satisfied that I can hit a deadline--though I've been having some trouble with that lately.
Q:Who would you like to make the soundtrack for your movie?
That's a hard one. I'm into instrumentals mostly and really into those "Epic Emotional Cinematic Soundtracks" on Youtube, so it's a start. and I just discovered John Prine(rip), but his country, sometimes-humourous-and-sometimes-deep music captures bits of the story and atmosphere quite well.
Guess if someone could compose happy/dramatic country with sacred chants and humming, that could encapsulate the vibe of the story.
