It happens, but I can't afford to let it mess up my schedule or interfere with my work, so I just do what I can and hope tomorrow is a better day.

no, not "everything sucks days" i mean they happen but more like
not the entire day?

rather, yeah, it doesn't really bother me. some days i'm really patient and put a lot more detail into something that was only meant to be a quick drawing while others i can spend little time on something because all the lines fall where they need to. and then there's days where i expect things to turn out good and they don't and i lose patience and idk what i'm trying to draw... but then i keep doodling dumb things that are hella ugly and somehow it kinda goes away //shrugs

i believe it's because i have understood that i really genuinely enjoy drawing itself. so it's like... yeah this is all turning out like crap. but hey i had fun doodling so w/e

I usually take a break, watch some arty vids, take a breather then scribble in blue on my tablet. tends to work for me

I had a day like that yesterday, everything looked wrong and even simple stuff took forever. Best to power through and get the bulk of the work out of the way so when you come back to it with magic fingers it doesn't take too long to fix. Still, such a pain.

Planning on stopping that now that I draw from life each day. Seems to be fixing the problem :U

not right now, but ive had it real bad for long periods of time before.

in the end all you can do is ride it out, but besides that id recommend trying to draw things you see - especially candid drawings of people, because you have to get it down fast before they move. it warms you up without you having to worry abt what it looks like too much.

I seem to be having less and less days were I hate everything I draw, and more days were I just have no motivation to draw. Either way I power through it 😅

people often talk about art block - when they're uninspired and don't know what to draw - for me, art block is when i literally can't draw, and i really relate to you on that.
Like, when all your lines come out wrong, and the whole figure just doesn't flow at all - i get that mental block all the time, and it drives me round the bend because it means it's rare i actually can draw. there's so many steps to my pages that i can kinda disguise it in colour and light, though. personally, i can't afford to take breaks when i have it, as it's so often - i just do some colouring or shading work that doesn't require drawing ability to do, and pencil in those rare moments when i can.

(right now as it's a heatwave in britain, and i can't function over 25 degrees celcius which makes it worse haha)

You should try doing warm up drawings. They really help. They can be anything too, like shapes or scribbles if you want. Just anything to get your hand and mind into it.
