Teaser 2: An Excerpt
As they passed by a glassware shop, Kira came to a rest, Maria thought the lady was deep in thought trying to answer her, but the noble went inside the shop and examined the insides of it, which seemed to be just any typical shop selling glass made wares.
Kira stopped on a certain stand in the middle where different colors of crystals were presented in an enormous glass pearl shell “Of course it will be, Sir Nicholas is known for glory and romance on his works” She picked up one and scrutinized it with her piercing eyes, the shop owner approaching and stand at the sides silently offering his expertise “The man will probably be a prince, broken inside but chivalrous outside, then he will be casted away to some island and find a princess there and they fall in love with each other…if feeling fair, then maybe he will focus on the female protagonist this time” Kira said “Is this a real crystal?” And asked the shop owner.
Smiling genuinely, the shop owner answered no and said that they are glasses instead and said that they are popular materials for the jewelers.
It was the first time that Maria saw Kira change her expression in front of her as the latter raised her eyebrows in realization first before smiling, minute but organic anyways.
“That’s interesting….I’ll take the lot” And showed a small pouch full of coins
Even though many have felt insulted and ashamed for the unconventional ways Kira has lived that even Maria herself feels repulsed, she couldn’t really hate the latter, they could have been best of friends, she’d thought.
Maria felt it then, a kind of sorrow that she quickly set aside “My wedding dress is already made…I ought to fit it today…will you come with me?”
“Well there is nothing to do until the celebration tomorrow anyway”
Kira has this way of being aloof and evasive of agreeing since the first time that they met, and only now did Maria realized it, that perhaps, despite being at each opposite ends, that they are somewhat the same, both struggling for some kind of power.
The power to make a choice.
