The people saying that Tumblr's adult content ban doesn't bother them because lots of sites restrict adult content either miss all the big points or secretly agree images of same-sex couples are inherently unsafe for children, POC should not be seen by (white) children, bots are good judges of what's suitable for children, and adults should only view work appropriate for children. Most sites are banning "adult content", and that's what seems to comes along with the bans.
Btw, Pillowfort.io isn't a safe place for creators leaving Tumblr. IO domains aren't supposed to host "sexual or pornographic or that is against the statutory laws of any nation." Pillowfort.io will likely be deactivated in the next year for breaking the UK's regulations.
I've been seeing Newground.com touted as a solution. That site has been around since the 1990s and insists it welcomes NSFW content.
