I am still floored by what happened.
UH first appeared on the internet at Inkblazers. It got featured for a short while but then turned to member status once the IB staff knew it wasn't going to be a series. It made sense and I had no qualms about it because IB focused on ongoing quality comics that updated regularly, and I wasn't serious about turning it into a series at the time. Strangely enough, quite a few IB readers who liked UH was hoping that it turned into a series as opposed to my other (darker) comics. I began to play with the idea and thought to myself, "It'll probably happen in 5 years since I'm currently busy with another comic." Well, things didn't exactly go as expected. I struggled with comicking and personal problems, went on a long hiatus and IB shut down.
Tapastic was indeed a pleasant surprise because of the welcome and reception UH was getting. And UH's Tapastic readers were also hoping that I continued the story. I should have listened to my readers much, much earlier :P... UH is definitely easier, more fun and refreshing to draw. Comedy does heal the soul XD (Though, I must admit, the comedy I write is still kinda dark, lol)
IMGUR was an even bigger surprised and it showed how terrifying the internet can be. I am honestly pressured and scared if not appreciative XD;;;. Nevertheless, Tapastic is indeed awesome so far. Wouldn't have happened without it! And I'm glad UH contributed to other comics, even in indirect ways.
I'm hoping that good comics (like the awesome premium and featured works from IB) get the attention they deserve. They really shined at IB and their creators have certainly put in more years of effort into their work than I have so far.
@minzinger , I've been wondering about the companies that come here. Is it alright to name some of them (or all, lol), including the creators that they took interest in/successfully made deals with?
