“You know what this is?”
Natsu nodded. He pointed to each part in turn as he described them. “The Mortal Realm, the barrier, the Veil, Heavenly Realms, and the Realms of Hell.”
Toji nodded. “It took me a very long time to realize just how everything worked. We’ve said it a million times, you can’t put logic to magic, there’s no point. It will defy it every single time. Here’s what I can say with absolute certainty. The reality we’ve known no longer exists. We destroyed it when we destroyed the barrier.” He touched the shell that covered the orb, cracks forming instantly as it broke apart, several parts shattering altogether.
He touched the rings that represented the two Divine Realms. “Ynda used bubbles to illustrate how everything flowed together, but it wasn’t quite right. What should be more accurate is water.” He twisted his hands around the orb, the rings spinning to his command. “It bends, flows, twists, joins, and separates. It connects and disconnects, grows and shrinks. It moves fast, it runs slow. That Disney song had it right; you never step in the same river twice.”
