I just wanted to say that, although seasonal updates probably aren't the best choice if you're looking to quickly build an audience, there's nothing inherently bizarre about the idea.
Maybe I'm just strange, but 2-3 months is not enough time for me to completely forget that a comic exists, especially if I got to read an entire arc in one sitting and really liked it. I already follow some doujin series that have similar paces; delivering a larger finished product every year or so instead of bits and pieces monthly. And they make it worth the wait~
In fact, my biggest criticism of the plan would be the effect it has on you, the creator...I don't think 2-3 months is enough to finish a story arc, unless you have a lot of time on your hands, or if it's a short story. ^^; Whatever you decide, take care of yourself.
