Yeah, like I said, I'm no tech head but the way it was explained to me was that it's like a log of everything done to an image. It records how it originates, then any software used to alter or enhance. So like in your example, running it through CSP would just add CSP to the imbedded data, not remove Photoshop.
It came up in a conversation about dumb stuff in police movies and such. That they don't need photographic experts to examine physical copies of photos since the info is in the imbedded files.
I just find it amazing that imbedded data inside images is even a thing.
