Yeah, I sometimes forget I base my drawing style off of cartoons. I don't like using a lot of excess lines, I tend to go for a flatter readability, emphasizing things like negative space. Except I was actually pretty bad in geometry in high school so I kind of struggle to maintain basic geometric shapes in character skeletons so I just, like, don't and call it abstract.
Genuine hand drawn animation is tough, but I would like to pick up the skill on my bucket list. Before I got into my comic I was playing around with key frames on video editing programs to make these kind of basic puppet-types move around the screen. I've made a line of cartoons that are basically just key frames I drew and thrown into an editor.
Its a really rough and basic animation style (if you can call it animation) but here's a clip reel of some of my 'best' work. Its not amazing, but hey, maybe it looks easy enough to spark inspiration for you guys.
