Ok, I posted in here a few weeks ago that I dropped Bakuman and started watching Shirobako.
If you are at all a creative person and enjoy creative people trying to achieve their dreams, you HAVE to give Shirobako a try. Even if you don't care about becoming an animator or working in the business, it has so many little shout-outs to things that all creative people would recognize. I legitimately almost cried at the end (and it wasn't a sad ending). Fantastic writing, fantastic characters, just... so SO well-done. I can't wait until I can finally watch the movie. The ONLY negative thing about it that I can say is that it's a new anime and unfortunately that means the grown-ass women protagonists talk super SHRILL AND HIGH-PITCHED(!!!) but considering the careful characterization and an absolutely authentic choice of wardrobe and the fact that none of them ever get objectified, I can easily forgive the shrillness. This show honestly cured some of my depression.
