These guys have that early American Power Metal sound, which evolved roughly just around the same time as European Power Metal. Believe it or not, they're two very different beasts, and an intriguing evolution. I discovered a lot of this on my own, the American side of the scene was even more underground than the European scene.
Speaking of early Power Metal. This album from Wichita, Kansas band Manilla Road, came out originally in 83 predates Helloween's epic "The Keeper of the Seven Keys", which is widely considered the seminal European Power Metal album by 4 years.
