I've listened to all their records except the newest one. The Crusade is their Thrashiest album. It's good, but I can never listen to it in one sitting. Trivium is one of those bands that hits all the right notes...but that's the problem. I don't think they have a solid identity as a group. They just float from album to album...like Metallica.
Not saying they're bad. Just, they don't do much for me. They're more of a 'Gateway' metal band that gets new people interested in the genre, so for me, I've already been into the genre for so long, I've heard everything already, and done...better, than what they have to offer.
(I feel so pretentious writing that XD)
But I do have a lot of respect for Matt Heafy and how he connects with the band's fans on YouTube. He seems like a genuine and nice guy.
