For I'm not A Sick Boy, powers are mostly based on states of matter (liquid, solid, gas etc) and effects that can affect those (gravity, teleportation, direction, weight shift etc).
Also the superhuman class appear to be asymptomatic carriers of a virus that instantly turn others into Feral monsters within a 20-30ft radius. This spreads into an outbreak.
From the Protagonists' pov, powers take a mystery/discovery route, and appear either creepy, surreal or gross.
Basic rundown on three main dudes:
Evan Moriarty- SOLID /Quasi-Solid
Can calcify his bodily fluids into highly durable materials (gif above). He relies on his Saliva, spits a loogie into his hand to create a variety of melee weapons and traps to suit his fast paced combat.
more on his abilities
Was once on track and field team, did medieval sword classes as a kid
(Was hanging with Xun /liquid guy prior to story and learnt combat and parkour from him)
He often relies on spit swords and spit daggers the material is durable like diamond
He can make Quasi-Solid sticky jelly traps and explosive bubbles
When he heard the HUM that awakened his powers, he puked a goop that began to rapidly evolve into a massive creature. His allies keep an eye on him, incase it should happen again.
Lacks regeneration ability compared to Owen and Xun
Owen Moriarty- Gas
He can shift into a gas form to enter through porous surfaces.
His powers become more handy overtime
Telekinetic manipulation of his camcorder with infinite recording space.
He can merge with his allies to enhance their skills (similar to Materia in FF7- poison, elemental damage etc).
He can teleport to ally location (allies serve as a conduit, must earn person trust to make them allies).
Distant viewing (random pov of other superhumans, feels like a fps game).
He first serves as an assist but takes a more offense position later in series, the more he discovers his powers.
Once he turns into gas and back, his physical body resets to the state of him hearing the HUM that activated his powers and holding his camcorder (chop or burn him or his camera, they will reset once he turns from gas to human)
Becomes plasma in intense heat
Not immediately vulnerable to gravity
Xun - Liquid /Quasi-Solid
He can shift into liquid, partially and fully for unarmed melee style combat
more of his abilities
He is a former assassin and mixed martial artist
Parkour skills
Liquid limbs (extends his limbs for extra reach)
Can drown opponents in his liquid form
Can pass through porous surfaces
Mentor of the trio and appears to be familiar with his liquid based abilities
Corrosive abilities (teaches Owen these, and Owen transfers this to Evan)
Gelatin substances that can create sticky traps
Once he turns into liquid and back, his physical body resets to the state of him hearing the HUM
some other powers displayed: SPOILERS
Gravity/Anti Gravity (he continuously evolves, a character who threatens both heroes and villian)
Vapor (shift to various vapor based animal forms)
Power Reverse (false antagonist),
Mimicry (fake antagonist's lackey, Evan's fated battle)
Direction (ally)
Teleport (appears to be based on previously visited locations)
Object Transfer,
Power Disable,
Weight Shift,
Holographic helper (appears like a ghost servant to a bed ridden character)
Sharpen a surface via touch,
Puppetry/ Symbol manipulation (influence over others, can manipulate others to forget their abilities to make them vulnerable)
transmit via electronic device (minion of fake antagonist)
It evolves into a Battle Royale so most get eliminated. Sound is an important part of series, the mythos revolves around ancient man becoming gods by being exposed to specific 'Frequencies'. The main characters discover their bizarre powers and become carriers of the virus, after hearing an eerie Hum one night. The source of the hum was poorly played, it activated latent powers within certain individuals but also created a side effect where they become super spreaders of the horrid virus.
