What can Webtoon learn from Tapas and vice versa?

I would say that it would be nice if WT had better notifications especially when readers comment on your series and it would be nice to have a profile page or a forum other content creators can communicate with each other on. I believe that a forum with professional and experienced admins would do the site good. I actually quit WT because an admin from a Facebook group started h@rassing my personal account.

For Tapas, more sub-genres and discoverability would be nice. Like if a newly updated series can get bumped up for Fresh and two other genres I think a lot of undiscovered series can get light

i think a lot of the above replies cover some points i already agree with especially in regards to things like comment moderation and removal of the rating system for webtoon and then things like more discoverability and sub genres on tapas

i think one thing i'd like to see for both is more accessibility features like dark mode and image descriptions but also a more unique or standout UI for Tapas. Since the overhaul of the main site it feels like we're desperately trying to conform with our competitors rather than standing out and being unique. Plus I think lots of folks agree that both sites, Tapas especially, could stand to divert some of their attention away from just romance/isekai/villainess stories and branch out into more genres.

I do think that stronger moderation would be helpful too in terms of protecting folks especially marginalized creators from targeted harassment as well as just people generally posting vile things. Like I understand folks are allowed to "express themselves" but there should be limits as for what is or isn't allowed

Webtoons:
-Remove rating system for canvas creators
-Ability to remove/delete comments if you are a creator.
-fix the long old link of canvas urls
-have forums

Tapas
- Give chance to community comics not just hand picked by staffs who's comics are already famous.
- Patreon integration/kofi
-although I understand that webtoon is 10x viewable/popular than tapas
tapas should give support to community creators who are doing well in their platform or set additional support to community creators. (like reached minimum views to get support etc*not just support ink, the support should be coming from tapas) so everyone can do their best here.
the ad revenue is really small.
lastly, please fix the app, it always crashes and the notifications are always delayed.

since i never used webtoon so i dont know but for tapas i think they should add better premium novels/comics or comics in genral at the home page. I'm not someone who dislikes the things they put out but i'm not the only one who thinks most of the stoires are repetivie. cough transported to my own novel cough.
Hopefully they can be more diverse with their genres and more original stories. original as in unique than the last 20 isekei or romance.

Tapas:

• Clean up the user interface when reading. Webtoons UNDERSTANDS this, the bar at the top is small and compact, and it fades away when you're reading or you click it away. That isn't an option on Tapas and hasn't been for far too long. On my laptop up to 30-40% of the screen is taken up by obnoxious bars that I don't want blocking me when I read something. I know full-screen exists, but I like to alt-tab out every so often and having to do this CONSTANTLY is irritating, and something I DON'T have to do on Webtoons.

This is the single biggest reason I almost stopped coming here entirely. Even so when I DO come around my very first action is to check and see if something I'm interested in is on Webtoons instead.

• Add the titles BENEATH the comic covers. Again, Webtoons does this, and it makes seeing what I am looking at much easier. A lot of the comic pages on Tapas DON'T have their title beneath the image, and the image itself is as legible as the Rosetta Stone is to the dyslexic. I hate having to click on something and open a new tab just to see what I'm even looking at and what its called.

• Have the comments section at the bottom (like it used to be). The comment section on Webtoons is overly restrictive but I can see what I'm writing out when I want to post a comment. The side panel on Tapas is an atrocity that often runs text OFF of the screen and makes it impossible to see or edit unless you erase much of your comment to fix it, or post and edit it then.

I'll admit I'm bitching a storm up over this, but these are things that have made the website actively worse since the redesign in my opinion. The worst by far being the point about not being able to hide the bars, which take up FAR too much of the screen on smaller screens like on my laptop. Which I genuinely hate because this website was my haven for quite a few years. I loved coming here and finding new stuff to read; now I maybe check in once a week for any updates to the few things exclusive to this website I still follow, and nothing more.
