What do you usually make the high-point/climax of your romances/romance subplots (but sfw)

It's fun having different couples at different points of their relationships. It keeps writing interesting.

I totally agree. what could be considered the climax is different for every couple, and since my story "Damsel in the Red Dress" has several books, the main couple's climax is also different in every book. But that's one of the most fun parts about writing relationships, it may be the same 'kind' of relationship, but the people involved make each one totally different. I feel the same way about writing friend and family dynamics

Negative plot line climax here:

Is it a negative romantic climax? or just a negative plotline climax? negative climaxes i've seen often, as with negative romantic climaxes, but they are a bit different

Since my series (Damsel in the Red Dress) has several books, there are going to be several climaxes to the romance, and the second book has two or three. Another one of my series' climax (the first one of the second book) is coming out in August and I'm stoked.

New story, new climax. Would a kiss be too cliche? Lol, idk. My new novel I'm working on means working out an entirely new climax that best suits my leads' personalities, so I'm not sure I'll be able to have a standard 'usually' by the time it's done.

On a slightly different note, I successfully finished writing the (first) kiss scene of 'Damsel in the Red Dress,' (scheduled to come out in August.) It didn't kill my editor, and he actually said it was done well, so win win, lol. It's my first time writing a kiss scene in any released story, so I admit, I don't have a lot of experience...narrating kisses. It's a very specific skillset, and I don't spend a whole lot of time honing it XDDD. Good thing narration in general crosses over well.

Working on my newest romance novel "A Dozen Morning Glories" has turned 99.9% of the things that I did when writing "Damsel in the Red Dress" on it's head. It really feels like in almost all the places where there could be a similarity, the story just chooses to be nothing like DITRD, and while it's definitely fun in a lot of ways, it's also meant learning a whole new way to narrate, crafting whole new relational dynamics, etc. But it also means a chance to write new kinds of climaxes.

“We’re going to play a little game,” it’s almost a whisper, and he looks at me with a nerve-wracking-ly impassive expression - almost impassive - but in his eyes, I can see that slight light and coquettish curiosity-

“If I kiss you, I steal your memories, and you have to answer one question for me.”

My breath comes back with the force of a hurricane when he lets go on his own - shaking his head too quickly-

“I’m sorry. I know it was too tight-”

“It’s alright…,” I say a little breathlessly, but he looks up from under his hair with a look so miserable and gentle, and scared - his red face still spilling over with tears turning into fire on his cheeks-

I have to.

My high point is always the first kiss. There's no confession, just the kiss, because that's the most dramatic way to do it and makes the readers squeal.

never a confession? I think confessions can be just as dramatic as a spontaneous kiss, especially when it gives people a chance to see a level of emotional vulnerability from the characters they hadn't gotten to see before. It always depends on the context of course, but it often takes more emotional vulnerability, leading sometimes to more drama, to talk about your feelings with someone. People kiss people quite often, but truly expressing your feelings is pretty rare for many people. So both can be equally dramatic in different contexts

I have one high point planned for Crystal Blue, but since the series is planned to run pretty long, I doubt it will only have one. For people who have multiple books, or several books worth of writing, to their romance stories, what was your method for keeping the romance from seeming redundant or getting boring?
