I have 14 comics in the making. 9 of them are horror based, and 5 of them still have darker tones.
I think I write for horror/thriller/Noir because I like to write the character reactions and motives and actions. I grew up on horror movies, and I think the ones I loved the most where the ones that were character driven. Night of the Living Dead, The Thing, V/H/S 2 -- I love stories that make characters selfish, characters who will do what they can to survive.
And I like to put those in my stories. I have the coward who might abandon you when shit goes south. I have the hero who tries and says everyone but fails. I have the skeptic who'd rather hold onto that denial in order to stay sane. And I have the comedic relief who laughs just to stop from crying.
I love horror/thriller and the likes. Because for me, it allows me to open up the situations and see characters at their rawest elements.
