What is an average time you work on an episode/page/panel

I need to try and speed up but generally 2 hours sketch and refining and messing with panel layout, 2 hours lining and adjusting, 2 hours colours and lettering if applicable.
They're only 4 panels comics so far though so not relatable to a traditional comic page. (I'm trying desperately to deter myself from shading in these but I'm already slipping into it.)

Where I've done sketch and ink on larger pages like that it's been around 5 hours on both. Not including setting up the page layout, editing adjustments, or colouring.

I generally take breaks between stages also so I can take a step back and possibly get a jumpscare when I come back to look at it again, and fix any mistakes lol.
I do 1 Skelby every 2 week currently but it's generally on streams whenever I have the time, comms just get done as they need to.

Depending on the complexity, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes if the page is short
If it’s more complicated and/longer, 1 to 2 to 3 hours it depends

And for sketching that takes not very long since I use ink and paper only and it’s rough sketches

For my Bound to be Together comics they are more detailed than my usual comics so they take the minimum I remember for like 3 hours and at most 9 hours (the longest time I worked on a one page comic that I know of)
But the average is around 4 to 5 hours. Sketching depends

This was the one that took 9 hours btw. I did it over the course of three days since I was focusing more on school and stuff.
But I’m amazed by the detail it’s actually insane!

I work really hard on them. Because of my more simpler style, I guess it accounts for how fast I make them.

I’m also a print comics person but I just chop up the panels to post on social media and most of my comics are 6 panels or 9 panels for more serious stuff! I time my work flow everyday and a relatively simple page like this will take about three hours total. Some take less but very few take more. With this project I’m usually writing them the day of so that time includes writing, penciling, inking, scanning, coloring. It probably takes me around five minutes to chop em up for posting.

I do scroll comics for webtoons/tapas. My comics are about 30 panels and are weekly. Usually I have a week plan over 7 days. 2 days script, 1 day layout, 1 day pencils, 1 day inks, 1 day color. That leaves me with 1 day in case something goes wrong. (like having a lot of color effects for lighting) These days are between 3-5 hours of work for the art part. The script part is more fluid as I read over the script over a weekend to dial in the dialogue and refine it (mostly spelling mistakes).

The 24/24 challenge seems like a really neat idea! Feels similar to November writing month where the goal is to get 50k in 30 days, or @ 1700 a day.

There's definitely something to be said about just sitting down and churning out content. A huge amount of it might be low quality, but you can always set the crap aside. You can't edit what doesn't exist. I heard that Stephen King recommends a bare minimum of 1000 new words each day, balanced with reading and editing time.

EDIT: guess I didn't put my pace in. I try to do an episode a week, or about 1200-1500 words. With that said, that ends up being my average, with some weeks being 0 episodes, and some 2-3

One four panel Free Falling page takes approximately 3 hours to fully produce. It varies heavily, depending on how much I have to draw + my emotional drive each day.

About 30 minutes. (copy pasted panels, one character to draw)

2-3 hours. (panels are subdivided, have to look at references for drawing non-main characters)

3-4 hours. (lots of characters to ink + color + need references, more time needed to plan out composition + actions of several subdivided panels)

I typically make 6 pages a week. Each page is (usually) 4 4:3 panels.

On average, writing all 6 takes 2 hours. Storyboarding 3 hours. Ink/color/detailing 2 hours for each page. Revisions/finalizing is 2 hours.

Because of my current situation. I usually am able to work on Pages for up to 10 hours a day. I rarely actually take advantage of that though. I usually work about 5 to 7 hours a day on two pages at once. Usually takes around 15 to 22 hours to finish two pages of my comic Alterria.

Depending on the style, I might finish one panel in a few minutes, while others can take several days XD
But overall, I feel like you all draw much faster than I do.

I would do another 24 hcd but I would do all kind of time saving tricks and finish the comic
in 12 hours, then chill and sleep. I did it 3 times without sleeping and working the 24 hours
with short breaks. It´s too insane for me nowadays

I try to force myself to slow down, drawing fast can also mean drawing rushed and lower
quality. Or having to draw the same pose all over again.

I work in batches which means that I don't work from panel to panel, I do each process on the whole episode. I mostly work on it on weekends, and when I can, and have the will, on 2-3 days after work on weekdays. So it's kinda hard to tell accurately. Usually it takes 2-1,5 month to finish an episode (35-50 panels), which I upload in 2 or 3 part.
- I sketch the whole episode 2-3 days
- Lineart is ca. 3 weeks
- Coloring and rendering ca. 3-4 weeks

The last time I clocked myself it usually took me one week to complete a page(depending on certain factors); when working on the weekdays I would work at the pace of pencils- 2 to 3 panels per day(I kinda slopped on my pencils coz I knew I was going to do all the definitive work during my inking stage), inks-1 to 2 panels per day; sometimes I would render all the background inks and line art first, then do the foreground figures...colors would take the longest; it usually helped when I knew I was going to lay down a certain color for the whole mood scheme- coz I could do that for the whole page(I also used a grunge texture brush on background-less panels so that the foreground colors would pop better.

I got the most work done on the weekend, but sometimes I had to remind myself to stop and take breaks, eat food, etc...

In my case, I follow a very strict schedule:
-Monday/Tuesday: Line art
-Wednesday: Base colors and backgrounds
-Thursday: Rendering
-Friday: Finish what's left
-Sunday night: Sketch the next page

Repeat this four times and you have one of my monthly chapters haha. Worth noting that mondays and wednesday I'm literally worlking all day on this, such is the life of a neet, but depending on how laborious each page is, I spend more or less hours a day on it, sometimes I even have free time!

for me, it depends how much i care about the end product... i entered the webtoon contest earlier this year and was able to produce ~30 fully colored panels with... varying levels of finish every week. the way i normally blocked it out was a day and a half on drafting, 2-3 days lining, and 1-2 days coloring/ rendering. it was easiest for me to color and render in one phase just for timely reasons, but I can't say i'm the proudest of the outcome:

however, more polished comics generally take a bit longer, especially since i work by default in traditional- page style. normally about one full day (6-8 hrs work) for lines, and another two for color and render.

I upload to my series twice a week and usually do between 4-6 pages a week with 2-4 panels per page. It takes me roughly 2-5 hours to get from storyboard sketch to completed page, so around 30 hours per week. Some days are faster than others depending on the complexity of the scene or if I'm in the right creative mindset. I do sketch quite quickly and I use vector lines for my inking which makes cleaning up those lines faster. I also have a few tools that speed up the flat colouring part of the process. The canvas size I use in CSP is 7000 X 11000

It´s good to see that I´m not alone when it comes to process and speed to finish a page.
I used to be one of the rush through people and I feel like I got way slower during the
years. The quality of my pages is better now and I often ask myself why I rushed everything
so much when I was young. It has probably to do with that you want the end result way
faster when you are a teenager and don´t have the patience.

Same thing but diff reasons...when I first started out I was just really amped and was cranking out pages- now my body hurts so I don't rip into pages like I used to; the quality for the most part is still the same, it's just that I don't have that energy that I used to when I first started.
