Welll my comic is called "CONFESSIONS" and yep it is a boyxboy.
I think primarily girls find it cute when two males are expressing themselves. It's also a taboo in a lot of places, (my characters just happen to grow up in the 60s-70s) that causes drama and a lot of tension between the characters. And more often then not there is plot, always some sorta some kinda love/romance thing happening, even when it's being forced (which isn't my thang). I'm also mostly straight so two guys is double hotness...not sure if that makes sense but...LOL.
I've been in the BL scene for a very long time(GOD I FEEL OLD). It's also my niche market. Some of my fans come for the story, some come because 2 guys getting it on turns them on, some think it's just adorable. It's a range of things. But personally if I'm going to read boyxboy stuff now I really want good plot, character development...I don't read smut now that I'm in my mid 20s.
Personally my two gay characters come about bc they were my main characters dads. I just started developing their back story one day and PEOPLE WHEN NUTS...so why stop a good thing?
