I love the way that in the TV show they focused on Hilda's life outside of her house while in the comics they focused on the inside. I see that they didn't change Johanna's character, but they've changed certain circumstances for her not to scream at Hilda like in the comics. I found that kind of disappointing, but I'm glad they didn't change the way she'd react to that scenario but the scenario itself.
I am personally excited to see how they'll make The Stone Forest, since this chapter is one that focuses on Hilda's relationship with her mom, which we haven't had as much of as in the comics.
I love Johanna's character. She's a very realistic single mother character, and in the comics she had many flaws that children can find in their parents. Many kids watch cartoons and see that no mother screams at their children, but their mothers do. It's just very refreshing to see a mother character that has the attitudes of a real parent. She has flaws, she worries too much, she loves Hilda a lot.
Anyway, just something I've been wanting to tell a fellow fan for a while (none of my friends read the comics and watched the series lol)
