I'll admit way back when my comic started, it was influenced by webcomics that dealt with gag-a-day stuff. Particularly video game focused webcomics and even "Shortpacked" and "Multiplex" for stuff like toys and movies.
I used to draw characters that were each a particular type of character. One was the video game player, another was the toy collector, another was a movie reviewer, etc, etc. They would make jokes about whatever current event in their field was going on.
When I truly got myself going on my webcomic though, I started to develop my characters. Give them backgrounds. Flesh them out as it were, so they became less about being "the gamer" and "the collector" and so on, but more like people you'd actually know and maybe talk/hang out with.
My art style is influenced by a number of manga artists I used to want to try and draw like. Kosuke Fujishima (Ah My Goddess, You're Under Arrest!), Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma 1/2, Inu-Yasha), Masamune Shirow (Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell), and Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina, Negima). They all kinda blended together into my own attempt at a style.
