I don´t know a lot about One Piece, but everything I saw was entertaining
even if didn´t know the context and had no explaination what´s going on

I agree, I think what separates a mid story to a great one is the impact the readers feel, and how connected they are with the characters and lore. I personally have not read any of Tolkien's writing, but I sure as hell want to someday. Finishing up Game of Thrones atm.
