There's nothing quite like The Butter Bee Chronicles <3 its on a different level... the cursed level, you'll only enjoy if you're just as cursed as meeeeee <3 <3 <3 Don't take it too seriously, but also the plot is beginning to show ... so maybe it's not purely for the funnies. I'm not serious, but I'm not joking either! The story is a third mysterious thing that you will only understand if you read it :]

What makes my novel rather interesting is how it was formed: the source is the MMORPG Spiral Knights, and many of the characters included in the story are NPCs or enemies found in-game. Of course, I've had to flesh out many of these characters since there's only so much explained in-game, but that's just made the immersion in writing my story that much more fun.
BUT, for (almost) everyone else in my story not based on NPCs/Enemies, they are based on real people I encountered during my decade of playing the game. Lance and Balldrick, for example, are two actual guild mates I got to know pretty well, and Zimthose isn't just Blast's brother, but also based on my real life brother. He decided on what gear Zimthose wears and what weapons he uses as well, it's not solely based on my own decisions. Most everyone is as I remember from my time playing with them, from their armor and weapons to the way they talk or interact with each other and even relationships.
It's almost a fictitious-biography of the game from my own perspective as the main character.

i think my story being a Black-centered NBLW story is already one thing, as well as the topics of dementia, dyscalculia, ADHD and other topics coming soon aren't something I've seen yet so far -- but beyond that, it's set in 1999!! i don't think we've gotten many period pieces yet on the late 90s/00s !! here are my latest updates! <3

My story is a horror-fiction that takes place in modern Philippines (2016-onwards)
My cast are diverse with Filipinos, some are mixed but almost all of them are full-Filipinos.

You don't really see south-east asian based novels in this site, so I'm hoping to give representation on that! It's written in english for everyone to enjoy!

But do keep in mind that it's a horror/thriller, so sensitive topics about culture, society, personal etc. will be showcased (It is ongoing, so stay tuned to delve deeper into that). Oh! And it has supernatural (though it's very lowkey for now) and drama too, if you like those. Overall, I think these are what makes my story unique!

My story is unique In the way that the MC, Emilia, has to become a god, she has no idea How to do this, and she must salvage what was left of a world where emotions manifest physically. She must Go into mini worlds /pocket demensions created by people’s specific traumas and save them from these worlds. Another way that my story is unique is that it takes Place after the world has ended In a way. Their are Plenty of other ways the story is unique, but I don’t want to spoil anything.

My slice of life comic "Signs Point to Bobbie" features a deaf MC and his hard-of-hearing best friend. The main language used in my comic is ASL. I think this is a pretty unique feature of my series, as well as the general relatability of the characters themselves 🤠

My story, Karamador, can be considered different by featuring folk tales, ghost stories, legends and mythologies from Finland and Scandinavia, including even some local folk tales that aren't that widely known, and many locations are loosely based on real life locations from the same areas. In other words being a mix of real life history and fantasy. Also it's primary reneissance fantasy, which I think isn't that common, especially ones including early firearms. I also haven't seen many with both anthro and human characters.
The main character Sir Kiljaos being a paladin and a wind elemental at the same time is quite different in my opinion as well.

I think what makes my story unique is how I work with fantasy Vs reality from a Bl perspective. Although it's cute - and seems to be silly at first - there are some heavy subjects in it, making it way more complex and entangled than it seemed to be
Also, I work with lots of psychological and sensory features - which I love describing - and as it now progresses, things are now turning to my favorite part hehe~ (and I'm improving my translation skills, yay!!)

Some interesting replies here.

I haven't seen a lot of authors express open contempt for their characters, but I do (both in the writing of them and in the comments section of the chapter updates).

My rated-M cringe romp Bare Possibilities is a farcical BL story about band brothers on tour who do more than sleep when they share hotel rooms. It's not that I don't appreciate sweet romance--it certainly has its place at the table--but I derive a wicked frisson of pleasure from exaggerating the sillier elements of the genre and putting my characters in excruciatingly humiliating predicaments. Call it an exercise in gleeful genre destruction, creative character assassination, or perhaps me poking fun at my past self (when my writing was embarrassingly purple). At any rate, I do it for the lolz (and the l-o-v-e, but don't expect a HEV, or even a HFN--my MC doesn't deserve a riding-off-into-the-sunset-with-his-OOA ending).

What makes my story unique is that my MC is morally flawed and isn't like a noble hero. Depending on the reader's perspective you might root for or against him. My story also depicts the good and bad side of human nature nothing is purely black and white. It also touches on how society plays a big role in influencing our sense of morality and how we perceive others. My story is dark but it does have a sprinkle of humor every now and then.
