I am old fashioned too. I used to use Sakura pens, but the problem with those is that the blackness fades when you paint watercolors over it. So I switched to Higgins ink and a dip pen, just like Robert Crumb! I still keep my Sakura pens, but I only use those for lettering. The dip pen has a ton of line variety, switching from thick to thin, and it makes my art look more interesting. Also, what's great about Higgins ink is that it's waterproof and the black does not lose its luster under watercolor.
