What pen/ brush do you use for INKING?

I used to work with the G Pen as well for the same reasons as you've given, but now I use the Mapping pen, I love the swooshy feeling and strong pressure it allows you to apply!

I am old fashioned too. I used to use Sakura pens, but the problem with those is that the blackness fades when you paint watercolors over it. So I switched to Higgins ink and a dip pen, just like Robert Crumb! I still keep my Sakura pens, but I only use those for lettering. The dip pen has a ton of line variety, switching from thick to thin, and it makes my art look more interesting. Also, what's great about Higgins ink is that it's waterproof and the black does not lose its luster under watercolor.

If I'm doing traditional stuff, I'll use microns, a bottle of India ink, and a wad of toilet paper. And a brush occasionally.
I made all of my most common digital brushes. I made a standard ink brush that imitates the texture and feel of a micron fairly well, a secondary ink brush that has a rougher texture, and a third ink brush that has no texture at all. For broader texture, I made a brush that imitates toilet paper stamping out ink, and a flat palette knife that relies on barrel rotation that I use for most of my painting.

I used to use G nibs and this really nice expensive ink and a pentel pocket brush pen that I would refill with my nice fancy ink but I started having to draw a lot on the go and having deadlines while also having to be at conventions or on a plane to a con so I eventually just made the switch to just plain ol Faber Castell Pitt pens and the pentel brush pen for black fills.

I like to keep it very simple now and its nice! I have just boxes and boxes of the same pens I buy in bulk in the same three sizes: fine, small and extra small and its worked for all my projects of the past idk 6 years??

I use G nib and Maru Pen with Dr. PH Martins Black Star Hi Carb ink, also faber castle liners

I use mainly this one! It's super reliable, though it has some jaggies in some very specific angles; still trying to figure out how to edit that very specific corner of the brush to fix it but it's like 5% of my art where it affects it.

I don't actually do separate sketch/inking line art. I use my original "sketch" lines and refine them, so I just use some default pencil brushes. On magical effects and some parts of the background I don't usually have lines.

I'm always tinkering around with the stabilization setting on mine though.
