I'll start with my leads and then diverge lol

Alicia is a nerd, though she isn't "nerd-coded" she was a straight-a student and still loves botany and zoology, especially marine life, which is why most of her art is of plants or animals rather than people. (no this isn't based on me or anything cough cough)

In my comic the main character is a red spider lillies. If you look at a spider lily they have these little antenna like things. I put those little things in the hair

Weeelll... I did recently add a small twist to one of my characters, Damen. In the previous Part, he was sort of this rowdy kid, a troublemaker but a sweetheart and a well meaning kid deep down.

However, ain't no way a kid suddenly stops being trouble just because they had a nice moment!

And that's what I used in this new episode:

That all said, this whole series is still very new and there isn't a lot of it yet, so the REAL unexpected developments are coming later on.

A subtle (well, not very subtle) detail that I added to Tsukasa are his pink flowers on both sides of his twin-tails. This serves to highlight his desire to present femininely.

It's also quite useful as a distinctive marker for Tsukasa because he is seen in a lot of different dresses.

Ea’s pupils being horizontal and more like rounded rectangles than the typical shape I draw for everyone else (well, except for one eye, but there’s a plot reason for that) might be my favorite part of their design. They’re vaguely based on a mimic octopus, and I think this makes that just a little more clear, plus it’s not often you see a character with sideways pupils.

(This is a giant pacific octopus, but it was really hard to find close ups of mimic octopus eyes with more than three pixels)

Actually, this is a panel thing rather than a script thing, but I hadn't planned to add the sunset lighting to this panel originally, now I think it's very symbolic, so I'm glad I included it

Kattar is a very sporty/athletic guy who loves action movies with lots of explosions etc. BUT he also loves flowers, and his favorite color is pink. He's put a lot of effort into keeping his house neat and pretty, even though he's in a wheelchair now.

I stand by the fact that the most mundane details about your characters give them the most life. With that said: Joey's irrational fear of horses always gets to me.
