Ok hear me out
Voyager 2 was a space probe that visited the four outer planets. As it passed Jupiter it used its gravitational force to propel itself towards Saturn. It did the same technique with Saturn to get to Uranus, Uranus to Neptune, etc.
Planets are comics. You are the probe. Once you've analysed Jupiter (done research, written a report) it's time to move on to Saturn. Maybe you will stay at Jupiter to get more information -- or maybe it's time to leave. If you stay too long you will be consumed by the planet's gravity and never reach Saturn.
So what I'm saying is... use what you have learned for your next adventure! If you're seriously thinking about making a new story and feel held back by the gravity of your current one then it's time to move on. But it you still think there is something to be learned then maybe stick around for a while.
