I would say the letter in the first chapter, or rather, how the protagonist reacts to it. I had to draw on the death of both my cat and dog to fuel it, leaving me feeling quite bad afterwards.

The fight scenes were some of the hardest scenes to write. Not because they were hard, but because they were quite draining. A lot of detail and mental work in short time. Its so freaking awesome
